✍️✨🐲 Scriptorium: Master of Manuscripts is OUT NOW 🫨🐳💚 (and getting lots of good reviews!)
I've had an amazing time doing sound for this medieval illustration simulator by @yazagames.com and working alongside @submergedtapes.bsky.social.

So satisfying! Well done ✨
I still have so many open construction sites around the house and I'm picking away at them if and when inspiration strikes
Now that YWDITP is safely in the hands of the printers, I am once again open to part-time or full-time contract work as a writer, narrative designer, historian, and editor. HMU here or on LinkedIn if you’re looking for one or more of those ✌️
Dining room with dark and saturated blue walls, boardgames, a big rustic wooden table and a raven wallpaper
The same dining room from a different angle, showing two big comfortable chairs in front of a window
"I'm going to quickly repaint the dining room" turned into a bigger project (surprise, surprise) - but it's livable again now.
Just need to sort out pictures for the wall (aka match the many antique maps around the house to the many frames I keep buying)
This is my brain, 86% of the time. 🥲
Photo of 5+ shelves worth of boardgames - partially alphabetically sorted
After banishing some less good boardgames to a cupboard and repainting the living room, the remaining boardgames have a home again now!
Photo of three shades of darker blue applied to a medium blue wall
The dining room is getting a long overdue colour update.
Once I've moved out all 100+ boardgames from the shelves 😂

Lil sketch from the Mexico holiday finished ✨
It's likely either a Social Flycatcher or a Great Kiskadee!
Drawing of a grackle (noisy local bird) with a speech bubble saying "Don't be scared to make some noise!"
When the cute feminist bookshop café in Mexiko asks you if you could add a drawing to their menu, you can't say no! 💜
Burnout suckkkks 🫂 I didn't take enough of a break at first when I had mine and it often takes longer to go back to normal than you'd think - hope you can gift yourself time, care and patience 🍀
Card titled: Spindle of Finding - contains drawing of a wooden spindle with a sparkly thread on it. Invisible to the human eye - can be used to track people or objects or find your way back to a location
Reference pictures comparing originial inspiration and final results
Also, it was lovely to stroll through the museum and check out the cool little things on display at the Bridewell Museum in Norwich! Fun exercise, can recommend :)
Card titled: Craw Craw - contains drawing of a cute little bird that can be attached to a hat to warn the wearer of danger
Card titled: Fairy Phishies - drawing of little winged fishes made that can be added to cauldrons to mix potions
Card titled: Mirror Brooch of Warding - contains drawing of a decorative little mirror with a safety pin on the back! Can be used to reflect bad effects like basilisk stares back
Card titled: MSG Magic Salts of Gastromanch - contains drawing of a set of three colourful salts in a little silver basket - each salt can change the attributes and flavours of food and substances in the game
Went to a cute storytelling workshop by the Wayward Adventurer's Guild this weekend at a museum and used the prompts we were given to turn items from the exhibition into items for stories or D&D and other RPGs. ✨ It was so much fun to draw and re-invent things! (1/2)
For the cat comfort side: make sure there are hiding spaces.
Right now, the cat is swapping between hiding under the seat and in her cage, rather than on my lap 😅
I'm paying for a door to door taxi that takes care of all the admin and let's me go along with luggage too! 😅
I thought it was a bit expensive at first, but booking channel tunnel transport etc and petrol adds up too, and having to do the driving too would have been really stressful.
Badly! 🥲
But it's nicer for the cat, since she's lost both her siblings, she's been really bored and the kids and her got on like a house on fire (and we didn't want to add another cat to the household).
But I can visit and I'll get daily updates on the little gremlin 💖

My darling kitty is moving to Germany to live with my little nieces. This is her "Why the fuck is this car still moving even though I screamed at it so much?!"-face
We can’t afford a $1M trailer slot 😔
But reposts on Bluesky cost $0 - and they really help tiny teams like ours ❤️
If cozy medieval creativity is your thing, here’s our Scriptorium trailer!
Screenshot of bird fact questions based on Wingspan . This page asks "which of these birds lays up to 28 eggs"?
Question about which emo band or song is being represented in emojis here: 😱👉🕺🕺🪩
Asked everyone I invited to my partner's birthday surprise party for a pub quiz round of their dreams. Had fun crafting "music round - emo only!", "bird facts" , "lvl 3 tempest druid spells" and other silly stuff into rounds!
A page with the title LET SLUGS FILL YOUR SENSES, illustrated with 4 old photographes and glued on snails and slugs and text about how slugs and snails can touch your senses. The texts were taken from various articles to recombine into new paragraphs, for example: TASTE You may think slugs and snails are your nemesis, but actually this species provides essential nutritious flesh. Slugs are awesome - they're strong, tasty, tender. Consider choosing many slugs , tearing out chunks of their soft flesh. At dawn or dusk, do a slug and snail patrol of your garden. Can you imagine anything so amazing? It effectively rains mollusc marmalade. (The image shows a boy in a costume eating a giant slug and a woman biting into a snail instead of a cinnamon role) There are further paragraphs for listen, touch, and smell.
I finally scanned in my Zine Page that I did during Trick Or Retreat this year 🐌
There's something really fun about making bizarre & gross collages.
I always love it when I get to see the cormorants in the morning ✨
It's fantastic to watch them dive and try to guess where they'll come up again - and their cool and creepy "wing drying" stance
Great morning walk today 🌻
Flowers in the sunshine on a crisp winter morning walk

Good morning to Brazilian reporter Manuela Borges, who’s been waiting eleven years for this petty moment. ❤️ 🇧🇷

People think documentation is hard. "Documenting a lot" has legit been career advancing for me
One trick:
If you're writing down an answer to someone in an email or an IM, paste that this into a page
Just do it. Copy-paste. A little cleanup if you're feeling ambitious. Bam, documentation.
Ahh, I'm hosting this workshop tomorrow!
Nice to be back in Germany for this too - albeit just briefly ✨🇩🇪
Unfortunately I suspect as union activity gains momentum and popular support in this broken industry we will continue to see studios ramp up their union busting efforts.
Be smart: practice good infosec, read up on typical union-busting tactics, and most importantly: don’t let them scare you.

Went to Thor's Cave today!
Lovely walk, and fun to see the "Lair of the White Worm" up close 😁
Always happy to explore a new country I've not been to yet, especially from the Nordic list 👀
Noooo, I forgot to paint a worm 🥲
