At some point, you will have to disappoint others to live a life that is honest to you. People-pleasing will drain you, not save you. You have every right to set boundaries and choose your peace; you can disappoint people and still be a good person.

Ordered free, still locked up: Judges fume as Trump administration holds ICE detainees A legal maneuver once reserved for death row inmates and suspected terrorists has become the only recourse for immigrant detainees, who have flooded federal courts in California with thousands of peti...

tRump’s DOJ defies federal judges, keeping immigrants locked up even after courts ordered them freed on habeas corpus. Judges fume & impose sanctions, and declare a “judicial emergency” as thousands sit in detention despite winning their cases.
Pure contempt for the rule of law.

It will help you with empathy AND make you smarter.

Here it is, my annual reminder: don't spray spring dandelions with roundup. One flower can be visited by 100+ bees in a day, and your chemicals will kill all of them. 🌻

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 2961:
Your voice is unique. It’s a combination of many factors: your upbringing and background; the books you’ve read; your personality. Some people may not like it, but it’s yours. Keep it authentic. Trying to sound like someone else is a betrayal of who you are.

Demand protection for the environment and our communities from the EPA Last month, on March 17, the EPA published a proposed rule titled “National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants: Ethylene Oxide Emissions Standards for Sterilization Facilities Residual Ri...

The EPA is choosing weaker protections on purpose.

Rolling back these standards means more toxic emissions escaping into communities. More risk. More harm. Same communities paying the price.

That’s unacceptable. https://seiu.co/4cP5wB3

this morning, mamdani’s team got in touch with me to float a new tax proposal: if your net worth exceeds $5 million and you dress badly, you’ll be hit with a 10% annual levy for “visual pollution.” i would be in charge of deciding if the outfits are bad.

900lb crates full of onions in a field

The Coachella music festival is in the news with the minimum price of sold out 3-day ticket costing $549. Contrast that with "Nicolas" who is currently harvesting onions in the Coachella area and getting paid $22 for a $900lb crate. #WeFeedYou #coachella2026

DOJ demanded voter files from all 50 states.

DOJ sued 31 states for refusing their demand.

My law firm intervened to protect voters in those cases.

DOJ is now 0-5.

My firm is 5-0.

We are holding people in disgusting, filthy hot moldy gulags indefinitely with no legal representation even though they have committed no crime. Includes women, children, and babies. THIS MUST STOP NOW! Immigration is how we all came here, unless we are natives. ABOLISH ICE!

Barrera said her husband said the smell of human feces in the toilet caused a fellow detainee to vomit and, in turn, created a chain of people vomiting.
She said her husband is asthmatic and has not received medication to treat his condition. The lack of medicine and the stress of the overcrowded holding cell has left him short of breath and teetering on the edge of an asthma attack, Barrera said.
ICE did not immediately respond to questions on April 10 about the conditions of the Mesa or Phoenix facilities.
After the publication of this article, Barrera told The Arizona Republic her husband was transferred to the ICE facility at San Luis Regional Detention Center at about midnight. The San Luis Regional Detention Center is in Southwestern Arizona and has the capacity to hold 700 people.

This is horrific. A U.S. citizen describes the facility in Arizona that her husband was brought to while he waited to be put on a deportation flight. Dozens of people were crammed into tiny cells, there was a "chain of people vomiting" from filthy toilets, no medical care, and only one meal per day.
