Nobody asked but my take on the Undertale translation drama as a dubbing buff is that people forget that this is an indie game, and I do not feel those should be held to the same standards as something made by a big corporation. Obviously those will receive more translations

I've always made it clear I just dont dig most indie cartoons bc a lot of them Really Arent For Me. So here's a tier ranking of the ones I really do like. If I were a network executive I would have picked these up w some fine tuning

It's another one that hit me different when compared to its competition as a kid, was always my fave of the CN Big 3. there's just something about the humor and vibes that got me laughing everytime

(even if I don't like meanspiritness much, the show just nails it to where I dont mind it whatsoever)

Lrt Gumball is one of those shows that started off as yet another one of those generic SpongeBob clones (perhaps a decade late), and then randomly locked the fuck in from its second season & beyond to the point where I'm not even sure it still BELONGS in the "sponge-adjacent toons" category at all

The 2000's especially got hit so bad with that SpongeBob high but I was never really into the big ones that everyone praises myself. Like I'm sure Camp Lazlo is fine but it never itched my funny bone as a kid the way Spliced did. The beavers just got the assignment

Since growing up, I'm not even big on SpongeBob past the first 3-4 seasons (I'm a "sponge boomer"). but Spliced will forever be my beloved darling and Middlemost Post is kickass too. There's just something about em yknow

Not sure how far I'd go with that last one but they kinda feel like distant cousins. I really like some of the SpongeBob-adjacent shows that aren't just annoying clones of the series. All paying slight homage to the show in their unique vibes

Dare I say even..... Star Sweepers genuinely feels like one of those rare indie toons that COULD be picked up by corporate w/o changing anything abt it. Like it alr looks so polished that I could genuinely see Xilam sweeping the rights to it, that's crazyy

It's genuinely hilarious that they sold a plush of her before the two main characters I have literally never seen this before. But they know what they have and how to appeal to the masses (and clearly, it's working). I earnestly respect that grind

Please give her screen time of more than 4 seconds and you've sold me. I will watch your 2000's Nickelodeon boys club cartoon for her.
