And Grav has been what?

Cash for Mo, pinning it on Slot, getting rid off both?
Continuity is key, its how Real 3peated the CL. However, you need to set the club up first, then you have to renew a little bit at a time. We became stagnant and regressed.
Should have bought a LB 2 yrs ago, a midfielders before needing 4 in one summer. Now its too much, but needed to set club up
Apart from the tactical, i think we do need some transfers to make it work. We need to add:
- progression from back and midfield
- defensive balance in midfield
- pace and unpredictability in wide forwards
I just think the balance of our team skillsets are not great, even though our players are
Definitely need a CB when you have Gomez and Konate as 2 out of 3 CB options, with a 34 yr old Van Dijk being the 3rd. All 3 contracts ending in 2026 and 2027. Probably need 2-3 cb signings over the next yr or so.
That said, we also need to look at CM/DM and wide players in the near future
Talking about brains is perfectly fine if you do it the right way. The players are adapting to a new environment, with new demands. Its taxing for the brain, they have to relearn, solve new problems, and that will affect performance. Its about rewiring, finetuning and developing automacity.
Theres a case for going: Gio, Bradley, Konate, VVD, Kerkez, Macca, Graven, Szobo, Salah, Isak, Wirtz.
Might even go Robbo for Kerkez.
Think we need find some stability and roll it back a bit with the new guys. The left side is new and the striker, but it could give us a platform to play from.
There are structural issues
- everything looks disjointed
- Our press isnt functioning
- Poor progression and movement
- lack of balance, easy to play through
- lack of intensity and being bullied
Some individual errors are a result of the poor structure, playing ourselves into trouble
Gakpo plays with his head down, and i think its an awareness issue more than anything.
All the good combinations and team play today came without him being involved. Its like he’s not in sync with the rest.
If he doesnt improve that part, i think he might get sold next summer
Huge 3 games coming up. Tough ask but win next three, and get some results our way, we could be looking at 6-9 point gaps on two of our main rivals after 6 games. Then its Chelsea away.
Next 3:
LFC: Burnley, Everton, Palace
AFC: Forest, City, Newcastle
City: United, AFC, Burnley
I agree. I was just looking at the period until the next int break and noticed the opportunity. It would be a real knock to the morals of our rivals.
Our performance hasn’t been great. At the same time we’ve faced the best 3 defences on xGA. Its going to be interesting.

Diaz played as a striker a lot last season. Does the predicted output of Ekitike/Isak/Wirtz replace what we lost?
Id agree that LW in isolation is weaker, but i dont think the attack is in terms of output and quality. Wirtz/Ekitike can cover the LW position.
The plan was to sell 2, but we lost 3. We are 1 off. We’ll fix that in 2026.
Nunez and Diaz were high value assets financially. Nunez didn’t look like someone Slot wanted as a striker. Diaz was 28, 2 yrs left. We sold them for 110m. That allowed us to spend on incomings.
Your right. Sorry for mentioning: Salahs 33yr old, Diaz 28 on 2 yr contract, Chiesa having injuries, Nunez not gelling in the side
How the f is that being disrespectful? First 3 are facts. If u think Nunez was a great fit, ok. Sorry for wanting to dominate the league and winning again and again
Just wondering after the transfers we made, answers in hand, would you still have kept it as it was?
Clear signs:
Exactly, Diaz was never getting a new contract -> transfer
Nunez was always leaving
Salah hadn’t signed
Chiesa injured/wasnt picked
Was obvious we should sell 2 if possible
It was described as me trying to be controversial, but in hindsight, it was spot on to what actually happened. The lfc hierarky decided we needed change.
So answers in hand to what transpired, i was curious, do you still believe that we didnt have any issues? And go on without making changes?
Just wanted to hear your thoughts now that were on the other side.
Diaz didnt force anything, we would have given him a contract if we wanted to keep.
The signs were clear for need of change, both money and to sustainably challenge. It surpassed my expectations though, didn’t see that coming
100%. No. (Another 1 would be nice though. And its probably 2 more in 2026 in total).
The point is we sold 2, just as i said, despite losing Jota as well. And i was ridiculed for it.
You saw no issues, the attack was as good as anyones, and said selling two was fifa talk
I want to revisit this discussion, but in a respectful manner because of the Jota situation which obviously had an influence.
I am genuinely curious to hear what your thinking is now? You basically called me a fifa virgin(😂) for saying we needed changes in attack
I kind of want to revisit this. The Jota situation obviously had an influence. So i want to do it respectfully.
But im curious, what are your thoughts now?
Complex though. Is it the right thing?
Against:
- Probably leaving himself at the end of the season.
- CP losing money to reinvest
- Denying a loyal player a dream move, whats Guehis mindset now?
For:
- Short term performance
If it was Ibou for us i’d keep, but we’re in a different position
How long will Gakpo keep his place if i doesnt get on the same wavelength as the rest of the attack?
He actually said it on august 11th. If true, news should probably come soon, especially if Wissa signs for nufc
The rule: «registered.. for a period.. of three entire seasons, or 36 months, before his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21)»
Basically yes. Registered 3 seasons, turning 21 in the 3rd. Can be loaned out, Saliba counts as homegrown after 2 years on loan in france.
Would count in the CL though i believe.
What do you expect from ins/outs before the market closes? Our bench looked thin last night.
You said this earlier as well, thought about it watching the first half. When others are starting to click, he needs to get on it fast, or its only going to look worse
If Tsimikas leaves, we do have space for him. Im guessing Isak takes Nunez space, so then its either Tsimi og Chiesa to make space.
Doak + cash for Wharton is the move
