A big, round, golden boule of sourdough bread scored with an oil drop and the number 29. In-picture caption reads "Summoning a big game for 29 using sourdough" with a smaller note reading
"there's a 2nd loaf with 97 but the numbers didn't work as well" both written in light blue
Another big, round, golden boule of sourdough bread scored with an oil drop and the number 97, but with a neon effect drawn over the 97 with a caption reading "but with some insta-magic.."
An attempt was made.

There are 16 characters in “Play La Bamba, Baby!” not including the comma, and 16 playoff wins required to win the Stanley Cup. So with that game 1 win in the books,

Imagine the statement it would make if Carney rejected this pro-convoy, ivermectin peddling, trumper moron.
He won’t, but it’s nice to play make believe sometimes.

Found it! Even if they ripped off the clip it wouldn’t be convincing.

The final days of the Alberta Legislature’s Spring 2025 session pissed me off. I rolled up my sleeves right after and started a research project.
I present to you all an #ableg 🧵:

The LP cover for Big Wreck’s “In Loving Memory Of…” album. I have no idea what the picture actually is, but it looks like a very over-exposed blurry orange pic of lead singer Ian Thornley’s face while he’s laying down, maybe.

🧵 Breaking: Alberta government embarrasses itself again
Today, the Centre of Recovery Excellence (CoRE) published a study. Unfortunately, last month I published two stories showing how their data are junk.
Let's take a look. 1/

We desperately need that Windermere transit centre so people have options. Once the Heritage Valley LRT and Terwillegar bus lanes/MUP are complete, we need to have bus route density follow. The retail areas are reasonably walkable, but could obviously use improvement.

It’s never quite so clear how little hockey I watch now compared to a few years ago as when there’s a trade and I have absolutely no idea who the player is. Anyway, welcome to the Oilers I guess, $4.4M new guy. 🤷♂️

Interested? Join us next year! Raise $150 and get a sweet toque and make 400 new friends.
But until then, if you’d like to contribute something, everyone’s donation link is still live for a few weeks. Mine is in my bio. Let’s push that total a bit higher!

Tonight, I participated in the Coldest Night of the Year walk to support Bissell Centre in Edmonton. Easily the coldest of the past 4 years, but nothing compared to what our houseless neighbours endure. 390 walkers raised over $150k! And I got to high-5 @janis.irwin.
Together we can create change.

What’s even more sad to me than the misogyny is the part of society shrugging and saying what did you expect from rich white males as though it’s some inevitability we can’t change. Thanks status quo enablers.

Yep. That was a game of millimetres. Someone’s gonna lose. It’s unfortunate that it was the team we all cheered for, but it’s not an indictment of their character, grit, determination, or skill.

Need a new best friend? We've been fostering Inti since January 9. He's almost 4 months, super smart, and he's ready to be adopted!
Find him at Alberta Homeward Hound: www.albertahomewardhound.com/ahhrbadoptab...
(We'd keep him ourselves if we didn't already have two!)
