Well everyone knows he's far/ish left but the point of the article is the issues between the Greens proper and the new/younger recruits who have joined for different reasons. IMO charisma often plays a bigger part than policy especially with a charismatic leader like Polanski

Don’t neglect traditional Greens for far left, Zack Polanski warned The party leader has been told he risks alienating traditional members who fear environmental issues are being eclipsed by an agenda to attract younger people

If the Greens alienate their actual green members they could be exposed as just another populist/far left party no different from, say, "Your Party"😄

Pardons for women convicted of illegal abortions since Victorian era Those who have been prosecuted after 1861 will be exonerated and those investigated but not charged will have their police record wiped under a new law

Excellent progress for women's rights over our bodies and lives.
But why has it not been reported in the Guardian?

'Labour must prove it understands public anger over water company failure - and act on it' - LabourList The public wants a system that treats water as a public necessity, not a private cash machine. It must be unambiguously public serving.

Excellent hard-hitting article by our Labour MP @seanlwoodcock.bsky.social on the abuses by Thames Water and what can be done

'Stay the Course: Why Miliband, Reeves and Starmer Must give the UK Clean Energy Independence' - LabourList Clean energy independence is not just about the climate. It is energy resilience. It is economic resilience. It is national resilience.

Makes a strong case for sticking with our clean energy policy

Quite a turnaround in thinking about education and training but makes good sense, hope it leads to policy.

Len Deighton obituary Writer whose ‘anti-Bond’ hero in his 1962 novel The Ipcress File had a seismic impact on spy fiction

Guardian doesn't quote his pleasingly socialist statement on why he refused all honours: “To allow someone to give you a knighthood is to admit that there is someone who is allowed to appraise you on a scale which you are going to agree with. The audacity of it!”

Reeves: Brexit has not been good — we should align more with the EU The chancellor still bridles at the costs of leaving the bloc but remains sanguine about the effects of chaos in the Middle East as Labour’s position hardens

Pleased to see this from Rachel Reeves about fostering a closer relationship with the EU, and the single market. Businesses are clear that Brexit has caused significant damage, and the EU will help bolster Britain's economic growth.

Fly-tippers could get points on driving licences under new government plans Councils will also be encouraged to seize and crush the vehicles of people caught fly-tipping.

I support these new proposals, that drivers could get points on their licence as a punishment for fly-tipping - empowering local authorities to deal with the issue.

Spare a tear for these "migrants" greeted by reminders to pay their capital gains tax😂 Never mind, hopefully it will go to a better cause than swimming pools in Dubai!
