An oil painting of a man in a suit over a light blue background, the man has dark hair, a longer rectangular face and a slightly crooked nose. On the bottom right hand corner of the picture there’s the artists signature and 12.25 written signifying the month and year it was painted.
The barebones sketch of the first image, there’s a burnt umber wash over the paper with the sketch laying out proportions and lines depicting where deep shadows will be placed
Further along in the painting process the artist has depicted the shadows and highlights of the face, you can still see the sketch underneath as well as the wash background
Just before finishing touches, the painting is still taped to the workbench, the background and suit has been painted in
Proceeding with learning #oilpainting, I painted a #portrait last night! It’s not a complete in depth portrait, more of a #sketch, but this was something out of my comfort zone and I’m very proud.
Oil on watercolor paper by me
On the left there’s a painted scene at the very back there’s distant mountains shrouded by dark green trees, in the foreground there is a small bit of grass on the bank of a flowing river. On the right you can see the artists pallet where she mixed various greens and blue hues for the painting
A monochrome portrait of a woman looking to the right. She has a hoop earring and dark lipstick. She has light curly hair up in a bun with a bandana over top of it
I attempted a #gouache #landscape and worked on #panpastel #portraits these are a bit older
Some #sketches and playing with gouache over the month. Re teaching myself how to #draw and learning how to paint with #gouache
Any advice on what to work on past figure drawing and learning an art style would be awesome!
A black piece of paper held horizontally with two sketches using a white colored pencil. On the left side of the paper there is a sketch of a decaying tree. On the tree there is a lantern hanging from a branch on the right along with a shelf mushroom holding a jar. There are two mushrooms growing from the roots on the right. Nestled in front of the tree between the roots there is a small circular wooden table holding a beaker and a small vial on top of it. On the left side of the tree there is a mushroom growing from the roots and above it there are two shelf mushrooms. On the right side of the page there is a traditional Japanese Torii arch. Hanging in between the two poles there is a rope holding small trinkets that you can’t quite make out. On either side of the poles on the ground there is a fence leading to the next arch in the background. In front of both poles of the first arch there is a potted plant on each side.
Wip of a mossy tree stump being used as a little potion setup and a Japanese Torii arch. I plan on painting these tomorrow.
