my mom, a Hindustani classical singer, worked with her in the studio and at All India Radio (AIR) in the ‘80s and she’s only had good things today about Asha Bhonsle. we continue to sing so many of her songs as a duo (thanks for the genes, mom) and this hits so close to home.

RIP Asha Bhonsle. impossible to sum up her legacy, her impact, her rich and vast discography in any form. she and her sister (Lata) were probably the last real royal dynasty in India. and they kept singing for so long! Asha was on a gd Gorillaz album just this year!
