And I have now startes a Lattes and Legends on audio as a palate cleanser and am going to read a chapter of So far gone by Jess Walter. I'm starting to feel better but always happy to have an excuse to read :)
And more still! Finished We all want impossible things by Catherine Newman. This has to be the best novel about accompanying a dying person I've read. The absurdity of the situation, how life somehow continues, the pondering about birth and death and all the stuff in between. It's also a funny book.
Oh but I read more. I read a graphic novel, All our ordinary stories by Teresa Wong. Exploration in images of the story of her parents route to Canada, shrugging off swimming to Hong Kong to become refugees as normal, getting sent to reeducation camps, prison. Ouf.
Me, knocking on your door with books in my hand: Hello, would you like to hear about the good word...s that I read? In these books? (Anyways I was sick and finished this delightful japanese fever dream novel (always ideal when feverish, truly) on audiobook, Breasts and Eggs by Mieko Kawakami.
This sounds like the begining of an 80's horror movie. Night of the living microwave!
Truly nightmarish. Good luck to you sir.
Crossroads by Kaleb Dahlgreen. Listen I don't know much about hockey, but I was extremely moved by this young man's positive attitude and resilience, not just after surviving the Humbolt Broncos crash, but before too. Wish him nothing but the best, truly impressive.

After cleaning my kitchen, present me prepped the keurig for tomorrow me and left a little post it notesaying "have a nice day" and "you got this" with a little heart.
Did something nice for future me. Tomorrow me is going to be so pleased with this kind and loving gesture.
Everything is fine here, Iryn Tushabe. I enjoyed how this book brought me into a different culture and made me ponder how it would shape so many aspects of your worldview. A coming of age story that explores being different in a country or family with values different from your own.
The hunger we passed down, Jen Sookfong Lee. While this book gripped me, I really hoped these women would get some redemption or victory over grief, over patriarchy, over the hungry ghosts of intergenerationnal trauma. Will sit on my hunger for justice.
Julie Chan is Dead by Liann Zhang. I litterally devoured this, it brought me in a totally unforeseen direction. The vibes at the end were 100% this gif. Bravo!!!
Like the service, boo diabetes, but knowing is always better than not knowing, right?
This is exciting news, because whopper jr is goated
A few left, but its always such a good list.
Oxford Soju Club, Jinwoo Park. This took me a minute to get into because I had to figure out the universe, but it was a good spy novel.
Restaurant Kid, Rachel Phan. What a great memoir. A great reflection that goes beyond the restaurant. I enjoyed the audio version read by the author.
Hashbrown with salsa, poached egg, tajin, greek yogourt and pickled jaleppenos.
๐ Brunch this morning! Hashbrown, salsa, poached egg, feta (kiddo finished cheddar last night so I subbed it) tajin, yogourt (sour cream had... Expired. Oops. its grocery day). And homemade pickled jalepenos leftover from Hello Fresh box - These are a new fave for me!

A women' navy plaid blazer.
๐ My son having neat fashion projects and following through on them (see alt text)
๐ Frenchy's run with my son last night, found so many good pieces. Gave this wool plaid blazer I found a snow wash today (just lay it on fresh snow for an hour or so!) Will smell fresh and clean again :)
My 11 year old son with my niece's baby. The baby is three weeks old and is sleeping with a little grin on his face as my son looks at him in loving awe.
๐ Met my grand nephew (!!!). I love him to pieces. No words!
๐ Joined a (non religious) choir in January, it took me a while to get the hang of it (altos often aren't quite singing the melody and you need to tune out the other melodies) but I'm really excited to hear the songs come together :)
Things that made me happy in past week, a thread because sometimes we need to remember the good stuff. What gave you some joy lately?
๐ Did a 20 min spinworkout this morning! Once again, remembering how excerise is good for my hottest muscle, my brain.

A woman in her car, she has long wavy light brown? dark blonde? hair. She is wearing sunglasses and lipstick.
Good morning! Hope the clothes you wanted to wear was clean and easy to find, the lipstick you wanted to wear was in your purse, your'e having a good hair day, and your coffee is strong!
I used to be bothered more by perfumes, but I'd rather that that smell people's funk. I feel like my nose is getting more sensitive to it, yuck.
Some people are walking around smelling musty ๐ฌ
