I’ve had a book idea in my head for ages about a friend group of ‘90s teens whose eggs crack over the next decade or two, but I haven’t written much yet.

I love many of the international markets in the Pittsburgh area. I just filled my fridge and freezer with soup and other goodies from the local Italian grocery store yesterday, and their food is better than the bigger stores’. I also try to go to farmers’ markets as often as I can during the summer.

This is highly offensive… to chickens.

The chickens aren’t happy about the cold snap, but they’re doing just fine. They’re also spoiled babies who got their snacks inside the coop today (including some freeze-dried sweetcorn I had bought for myself). We’re all just biding our time until spring, when I will plant extra tomatoes for them.🐔

Chicken math is real, even if they’re just crocheted. 🐔🧶 I kept one set and gave the other to my sister’s kiddos.

I’m finishing up a crochet project and cut half a dozen pieces of fluffy red blanket yarn. 🧶 Of course, now I’m having fleeting moments of panic when I see little red spots on the cat, in the bathroom, etc.

It’s wonderful not wading through a sea of ads and crap to find the few updates I actually want to see. I still don’t really know who to follow yet, but that will change in time. I like that I can pin feeds about my interests.

About a third of the knitting/crochet pattern ideas in my design journal involve poultry, much to the surprise of nobody who has interacted with me since 2020. 🧶🐔
