Well PQs are cheaper. And I think the comparison is to $1000+ CC decks and not the full cost of everything on the way there (flights and hotels also cost money that doesn't spring out of the precon)

Thematically it would be the zombie raising trope but with shadow monsters. That part's almost too obvious. Mechanically you'd have to set it apart from Gravy in some way that fits the theme... Maybe you can only play allies from gy if you've lost life. Or you'd need to pay for them with life. Etc

Yeah it's more the combination where it's the longest season, has PQs + RTNs, doesn't have draft to mix things up, and hasn't impacted CC in ~any way. But luckily the CC format at least is not that bad

Ok prediction time... I'm going with the base guess that PEN is a light/shadow set called Penumbra. It will feature a Shadow Necromancer and a new Boltyn

SUP unfortunately gave us the longest season with the most events* while being the least impactful set in recent history and basically not featuring competitive draft. Can't wait for keynote news, though 🤞

Yeah this is one of the dumbest things I've ever done. I even practiced like 100 games for this event because it's the only tournament I'll get to in like 5-6 months

Both. James has talked about some sets being more on top of the hype cycle than others (not with these words but I can't remember exactly) and I feel like this one is purposefully lower hype and power level. Suits me perfectly at this time

What worries me a bit about this set is that it's the opposite of forcing players to interact with Intimidate, Confidence and quite minimal on-hits

23 players finished 9-3+ at Calling Copenhagen 🏆

Within these 23 there were 15 different decks and the most represented was Slippy with 3 copies 😮

If we went back through all the tier 3-4s, I'm not sure we'd find a more balanced spread ⚖️

5-2 going into day2 on Mario at Calling Copenhagen. I lost to DIO and Slippy and beat two Gravys so it's an upside down world 🤷 now trying to sleep 12 hours straight, wish me luck

Flying to Calling Copenhagen today for a true in and out as I'm flying out tomorrow night. Wish me luck with the flight being on time 🤞 woke up 3:20 today but a family man getting a night to sleep alone at the hotel will be a total rejuvenation 😴

Something I'm missing with this PQ discourse. All posts I see seem to assume they and their carpooling friends are all winning PQs and late season events can't even fire. If your region is anything like Finland, then you'll have 4 PQs of 16-32 people each and missing 1-3 winners is irrelevant

If you re-watch that part of the keynote, it's basically PB with that Iyslander silhouette turning into Silver Age with the fully colored version of the image. It is at least made to look like Silver Age is the fully developed PB. But I also see speculation that it's a supplemental set for PB

Super Slam has my brain poking me all the time to start breaking the new heroes. Although they're not my fav classes, the abilities ask you to start brewing. Lyath especially... I'm thinking

Small attacks with on-hits (Vipox?)
Pumps (Nimblism? More expensive ones?)
Prevention instead of blocking

Well it was Blitz and I have no idea what the meta is like so 🤷 in CC Kayo is probably fine into Gravy but pretty horrible into assassins and many random decks so wouldn't play it there

Missed Finnish Nationals top-8 for the first time, finished 13th. Doubled the attendance from before at 60 players. I really need to start playing faster even when sleep deprived 😩🥱 But there's always next year and the Finnish scene is growing 💪 Blitz WCQ next with a chance to show I'm not washed

Is all that done in design or are there cases where dev impacts the way a draft set is constructed in terms of the various dimensions players have to optimize for (class, talent, hybrid, generic, cross-hero mechanics,...)?

12 of the 23 missing Ms are exp slot presumably so we're only really missing 11. And most of them according to my number crunching are Generics (kinda like the Diamond Amulet). But hopefully there's a lot of playable rares and commons missing
