The movie leaving out the "rare gene" subplot makes his refusal a lot more understandable bc it's more likely they coulda found someone else. So he's less of a "coward" & more "guy who rightly didn't wanna be thrown under the bus" which makes that twist even more heartbreaking...

I didn't didn't find it goofy at all. I found it disturbing AF. All the desperate tripping and scrambling the guy was doing trying to get away...you could tell this was someone completely out of his depth. And since the movie eliminates the gene subplot, he was actually justified in refusing to go.

I don't think Grace was "cowardly" for refusing to be thrown under the bus just bc his boss wanted to cut corners. They coulda & shoulda waited to find an actually trained astronaut/scientist who coulda studied his notes, so them just kidnapping him instead was kinda horrifying...

Absolutely LOVED this movie! It was a really nice dose of humor & hope in these really depressing times. And the Grace & Rocky friendship was hilarious and adorable!

I was starting to like that paring at the beginning of the movie, but then the whole her-kidnapping-him thing happened and that immediately became a Notp.

He was in the 'final 3' contenders for VP last time. Maybe Kamala will go with him this time! I'm not sure Walz wants to run again, so it could work!

I think the nomination is Kamala's if she runs. It's becoming increasingly clear that the base of the party is sticking with her. That "Southern Firewall" will hand her the nomination just like Biden.

I wonder who she'll pick for VP this time...
