We light candles of peace two years after the terrible atrocities on October 7th when innocent Israeli people were murdered or abducted. We pray for the release of the remaining hostages. We pray for the plight of Palestinians who have lost thousands and their homes. We pray for the war’s end. Pax.

The 80th Anniversary of VE Day culminated tonight at King’s Staithe Square in King’s Lynn with the lighting of the beacon. We think of those who fought so bravely for us in the Second World War. They gave up their today for our tomorrow.

Yes it was extraordinary how Zelensky performed taking into consideration the immense psychological pressure he was under and the language element as you say. It looks as if Keir Starmer is now trying to take the initiative and even lead the democratic West in a more sensible direction.
