Trump offered several personal endorsements before the race — backed up by visits from Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President JD Vance — but could do nothing to swing a race that was shaped by growing public frustration over Hungary’s ailing economy, and the corruption and cronyism associated with Orbán.

It is highly significant that Magyar’s Tisza party is now heading for a two-thirds supermajority.

That would allow Tisza to deliver on the judicial reforms required to regain access to frozen EU funds and undo years of democratic backsliding under Orbán. The party would also be able to remove Fidesz loyalists from key positions, including the president and the chief of the Constitutional Court, which could otherwise torpedo the new government’s laws.

With this two-thirds majority, the government could kill off the structures that keep 80 percent of media under Fidesz’s influence, reclaim state assets handed to Orbán-aligned foundations and think tanks, and rewrite election rules long skewed to make it difficult for any contender to remove a party from power, paving the way for a return to democratic pluralism.

Humanity did that. Science did that. Publicly-funded research did that. Excellent universities did that. Diversity did that. International cooperation did that.

Artemis II is a perfect example of what we can do at our best.

Welcome home, Integrity crew!

I always wonder - usually in vain - just how big auction houses determine provenance information. Thanks to the Epstein Files, we can see exactly how a seemingly rock-solid provenance was built on shifting sands for this Hercules. 🧵

Because they know it would be the absolute end of them if they bent on this. If only they carried that attitude to everything else and used this latest batshit fuckery of harm from Trump to say no to everything. The US alliance is actively against our interests and the AUKUS Iran attack proves it

Students were skipping my astrophysics class to play video games – so I turned the class itself into a video game With college students less likely to read through a full textbook than they once were, video games can help keep them engaged.

This is inspirational and brilliant. Someday, I'd love to take my own educational game design experience and turn it towards heritage crime topics. Anyone on here interested in developing such a thing? Do DM me! theconversation.com/students-wer...

When you combine this case with Skrmetti, the Supreme Court has initiated a regime where states can ban medical care to affirm trans youth while states cannot ban efforts to engage in conversion therapy on trans youth. This court is such a joke.
