In de prullenbak: het Tracébesluit A27/A12. YouTube video by Milieucentrum Utrecht

💚 www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fuz2... @amelisweerdnietgeasfalteerd.climatejustice.global.ap.brid.gy

I finally got around to putting together my Jane Austen lego last night.

Researchers value null results, but struggle to publish them Survey finds that fear of reputational harm and a lack of support and publication platforms are among respondents’ key concerns.

Null results matter, but too often, they never see the light of day.

When journals only publish splashy findings, we lose valuable science.

That's why I'm excited about 2-pagers at @StacksJournal.bsky.social. Streamlined publishing for results that deserve to be shared.

Comic. [Two people on shore looking at body of water] PERSON 1: Hey, where’s that big island we were looking at this morning? PERSON 2 with short hair: Oh, it’s underwater. The ocean’s depth here goes up and down by like ten feet every day. PERSON 1: What? PERSON 2: It’s because the planet has a big moon orbiting near the surface. It causes weird gravity effects. PERSON 1: *What???* [caption] People here are used to them, but tides are one of the weirdest and most sci-fi elements of life on Earth.

Anas Al-Sharif pictured with his two young children that he is holding. They are all smiling.

Anas Al-Sharif was one of the most remarkable reporters of his generation. For 673 days, he defied Israeli threats to kill him.

Al Jazeera now confirm their crew in Gaza City have all been assassinated:

Comic. [two people in labcoats look at body pierced with blade draped over bench] PERSON 1: We found him lying uncomformably on the lab bench. I wonder if the iron-rich intrusion in his back is related. PERSON 2 with ponytail: It could be clastic. Maybe a rift opened in his body, and the intrusive material later fell into the hole. Morteratsch gletsjer

Morteratsch gletsjer

There is no magic formula which toxins are expected with #cyanobacteria but the #microcystins and #anabaenopeptins we identified as indicators for different species in Lake Greifensee in a 5-year study seem to apply to many lakes in Switzerland.

For a lecture, I am looking for examples of current amateur natural history collectors who focus specifically on the urban realm. For example, a shell, fly, or plant collector who specialises on the biota of one or multiple inner cities (rather than their surroundings). Any suggestions?

It's a cyanobacteria on the outside, fungus on the inside.

Well, sort of. The fungus lives in the extracellular sheath produced by the Cyanobacteria, and therefore are not really true endophytes. But the cyanos do create the external structure.
