Acts:
“Stephen said to the people, the elders, and the scribes:
“You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears,
you always oppose the Holy Spirit;
you are just like your ancestors.”
If I spoke to my congregation like this, someone might throw fruit at me. But I doubt they would stone me

And I would suggest that none of us are exempt from finding ourselves in Hell if we refuse to repent and obey the commandment to love. If you’re not afraid of The Hague, at least consider your own soul.

If you have one.

I wonder if Roberts gets up in the morning and contemplating his career while looking in mirror, mutters, oh shit.

React to this: he will never make sense for more than 30 seconds and then he will contradict that. He will never choose or do the decent thing.

A rabbit and a goat walked into a Portuguese bar one morning and asked, what’s for lunch today?

It’s a sad ending.

But a great lunch.

That’s another thing I miss which I bet you sold: boiled peanuts.

Chop them in quarters and then roast them with olive oil and walnuts.

That’s so nostalgic for me. I grew up on dirt roads very near Hahira. Cropped tobacco while training jets from Moody flew overhead.

I’m embarrassed to admit that I never really explored Caiaphus’ role in our salvation as told by the Gospel of John in today’s Gospel. Perhaps his motivation was wrong, but like Judas, he seems to be a feature of God’s plan for us. What does that really say about Caiaphus?
What do you think?

Not fast enough. And not hard enough. But it’s cracking. It will fall. And while we believe in forgiveness and reconciliation, many of those who foolishly enabled this do not, despite their claims that they do. And as they suffer because of the fall, they will turn upon each other.

I’m well. I have been busy in ministry and my day job. This climate has me focusing more on mission. Just a lot going on.

We interview our own David Dault @daultradio.bsky.social, who has been recording and editing us since the beginning of our podcast. He’s so much more than our recording engineer: he’s a theologian, a professor, an author, a husband, a father and a great friend. Check out his book and our interview.

Has there ever been anyone in the Trump administration who ever really mattered to Trump? Sycophants never learn. It’s a form of narcissism.

Well let me know when you try to stifle a spontaneous laugh while in a meeting in a conference room with a bunch of suits and snot inadvertently flies out of your nose

You don’t have to be a republican or a democrat to be against war. You just have to be a person who is against war. It helps if you can see humanity in the stranger. War is not the language of a person who loves.

As we leave Black History Month, I have that (too frequent) disgust bubbling up at those who would whitewash our history and push back on the idea that our freedoms as a nation must be seen in light of our national and local efforts to restrict those freedoms on the basis of color.

We had this discussion (because they asked) and after I explained to the catechumens and the candidates the proper posture for the Lord’s Prayer, our pastor laughed. He’s just happy (as am I) that they want to know Jesus.

Don’t worry, the Supreme Court will issue a stern warning that the Constitution has once again been trampled upon.

Oh, right. Never mind.

Feb 12 Scripture
Solomon began extremely well but he lost God's favor (1 kgs 11:4-13) because of his infidelity to the Covenant. As a result, the kingdom was divided into two. Sin and evil are not merely private choices. Even our most private sins affect our families, our church, and our community.
