Yeah fair. I guess I'm more reacting just to the fact that they straight up put a filter in. Even searching for utter nonsense terms at least gives a "we couldn't find any search results" page.

nih.gov was down for a chunk of time earlier today. But now it has some charming new behavior. To see it:

Now go back to nih.gov and try searching for transgender

This is not ok. Without study sections and advisory councils, the NIH can't review or award grants, which is a HUGE threat to research. Stopping them midstream is just... baffling. And deeply concerning for science and scientists.

Sooooo what does one do when the government agencies supporting your life's work (which itself is in service of the American people) are ordered, by executive fiat, to deny a fundamental aspect of your existence? Asking for a friend.
