Honestly I don’t think the rest of the political universe is conveying how much Trump and Hegseth are flailing. Each whipsaw change in direction is reported, sometimes critically, but it’s the accumulation of insanely reckless course changes - sometimes 180 degrees in 12 hours - that’s important.

He has lost whatever tenuous grasp he had. We are dangerously past due for the 25th amendment to do its work, and his whole cabinet has put their grift ahead of the country and, indeed, the world.
