Even as a Forest fan, it wouldn't be horrible to see Exeter get through tonight. They've been outstanding.

Hideous comment. Looked like an awful injury. You might want to delete this
It’s a long shot but- does anyone in London have a Taylor GS mini hard case that I could borrow for the next two weeks?
British airways broke my case, so it’s in for repair but not ready until Feb 7th
Picky Bs favourite @annabsavage.bsky.social releases her 3rd album today.
Here's @franslater.bsky.social with his thoughts:

'Not only have they made it look convincing that they like the album, but they’ve somehow convinced the world to join in with them.'
Which album did @franslater.bsky.social think his fellow Picky bs were lying about?
Find out on outlook latest list:

Editor @franslater.bsky.social had our friends @recordculture.bsky.social to thank for introducing him to Big Special.
He picks them as his favourite discovery of 2024 in our latest list:

That Evie Wyld was my book of the year. Amazing. What's the album?
As much as I love a record, that's awful advice.
Blame/thank
Picky Bs has changed you
Stunning film. Did not expect to be so broken by it, but broken in a good way.
48. Evergreen - Soccer Mommy
For me, the best album by Soccer Mommy so far. Largely improves my slightly Phoebe Bridgersing her sound, but it works.
It's another one we covered on the #podcast this year, so have a listen and all that:

49. Personal Trainer - Still Willing
It's an inconsistent album, this. Would be much higher on my list if it had more songs like Intangible and Testing the Alarm. But overall, it's a clever, diverse, and exciting mix of different styles of rock music.
We covered this one on the #MercuryPrize episode of the Picky Bastards #podcast, if you want to hear more thoughts:

50. Silence is Loud - Nia Archives
A surprise success for me, given the genre. But there's so much personality in this album that it's hard to resist. Crowded Rooms is a standout track if you want to dip in.
What was your favourite 'moment' from an album in 2024? A short moment of music that's had you keep hitting replay this year?
Ha ha. The one time I went to Pure was for a roller disco in freshers week.
We are recording the Album of the Year episode of Picky Bastards Podcast tomorrow, here's the playlist and albums we are covering:
Big Special
The Cure
Clarissa Connelly
Knocked Loose
Billie Eilish
Schoolboy Q
St. Vincent
Fabiana Palladino
Kim Deal

I finally managed to catch a The Twilight Sad stripped back performance live on Tuesday and it was magical. @nathbrudenell.bsky.social is the amazing venue everyone has promised me it is, too.
And that's just a few I can think of for now! Will add more as I think of them, but let me know what I'm missing.
Happify mixes games, pointers, tasks that get you thinking, and journaling to get you to challenge your negative thinking: play.google.com/store/apps/d...
Inflow is aimed at those with ADHD or those who think they might have #ADHD. But even if you don't, it's an app that helps you understand how certain things might be affecting you: play.google.com/store/apps/d...
How about a self care pet? Honestly, I'm being serious. Basically a gameified to do list that keeps you doing the things that help your wellbeing: play.google.com/store/apps/d...
I don't usually for gendered things, but Mental is a clever mix of challenge, accountability, and gentle encouragement that is centered on men's mental health. Plus a heavyweight boxer singing Let it Go: play.google.com/store/apps/d...
Balance is a meditation and sleep app that has been a game changer for me. Who knew that my years of insomnia would be improved by breathing?

Read some interesting stuff about the digitisation of #MentalHealth support earlier this week. While not much beats talking to a human, there are some great apps out there these days. Thought I'd share some that I've used either personally or in my work.
How was your Saturday afternoon? I paid £20 for two tickets to see a film about a flying, talking reindeer, trekked all the way to city centre and through crowds of shoppers, sat through 18 trailers for kids' films, only for my daughter to start screaming that she wanted to go home. Fun.
Feeling pretty predictable this year. #SpotifyWrapped
