Yeah I hope it's just due to one of the known issues that are being looked at. I think usharpvideo could get locked to only master by default until the put a url in or change the lock state given the current known issues, but haven't had a chance to test it yet.

They also did some ytdlp updates I think so it could be that too. It'd be funny if it's the networking changes though because the first time they attempted fixes years ago they broke usharpvideo.

FWIW if you're in a 80 person instance with avatars shown even before the SSAO feature, you probably have the depth pass enabled. The lighting systems in many club worlds require it to be enabled as well.

I second a depth component, this is tech debt that falls on VRC to fix IMO. Creators ask for things like this years in advance because they want to avoid the janky solution they know will become a problem down the line

I will note that a global quality keyword will multiply the shader variant count
