Absolutely incredible.

NASA Astronaut Reid Wiseman, who commanded Artemis II, took this footage from the far side of the Moon with his iPhone.

Watch with sound on.

Coachella is trying to wipe all of the footage of The Strokes protest set so I’m gonna post it here. The last images on the screen made me cry.

According to sources inside the IDF they measure success in Lebanon by the number of buildings destroyed per day. This has nothing to do with Hezbollah, their primary objective is to target civilians. It's a Lebanese Nakba.

To me, this is why I don't personally allow any leeway on AI. I don't use search summaries, I won't read you if you use it, I will be critical if you use it in poster or art design, I won't listen to an AI song. What you put into yourself creatively is important and will impact your own output

I don't know if Bluesky is functional rn but here's a #BirdoftheDay, alt theme is #Gulls which is perfect because this Ring-billed Gull was posed directly in front of my face this week. When it wasn't modelling it was in fact screaming. On brand

A Common Eider, having just caught a sea snail (I think?) near the wharf.

False negatives on COVID-19 tests are common, so it’s important to test again if your test is negative. False negatives (test results saying you don’t have COVID when you actually do) are common. If you have symptoms but test negative, test again at least one more time, 48 hours later.

If you test positive, there’s no need to test again. False positives (tests saying you have COVID when actually don’t) are extremely rare.

It is still important to test so you can get the treatment you need. COVID-19 treatments are available for some people who are eligible, and they can significantly reduce your risk of hospitalization and death.

Testing helps you to identify your illness so you can get the treatment you need!

If you’re sick but can’t test (or retest): Get plenty of rest, avoid spreading it to others, and talk to your doctor if needed. If you’re feeling sick but don’t have access to testing, it’s still important to give your body time to get better, and avoid spreading illness to others. Stay home as much as you’re able & get plenty of rest to allow your body to a chance to fully recover.

Avoid others as much as possible (and remember, nobody wants illness spread to them even if it’s not COVID-19), and wear a mask if you have to be around others.

Canada Geese are back just in time for the #LongNeck theme for #BirdOfTheDay. This pair was ready to defend their patch of the marsh if I got any closer.🦕🦕

"...we need to think about what happens when they’re gone — to talk about the kind of reconstruction the US will face for the first time since the civil war, the reconstruction a ravaged and corrupted country has to go through to return to functionality. But not to return to the way things were."

If you regularly use the word “moron” do a real quick search about the origins of the word and the person who coined it. Learning about its past was enough for me to stop using it (along with other similar words). We can do better.

Gulls keep screaming above my house in the mornings lately. I do not live right by the water nor by a restaurant or garbage dump, mind. What are they up to?

N.B. becomes 2nd province to launch self-referral abortion phone line | CBC News There’s a long and storied history of abortion access in New Brunswick, but a new phone line is attempting to streamline the process.

New Brunswick becomes 2nd province to launch self-referral abortion phone service. NBers can call toll-free number, get info, book an appointment for the procedure.

Excellent initiative.

Happy International #BeaverDay to all who celebrate! (and really, if you don't -- what's wrong with you??) Here's a jolly fellow I spent some time with this past weekend.

A sketchy drawing of a mirror-geld from Hemlock & Silver. It's caterpiller-esque in silhouette, but made up of fractals of hands, arms, and faces. There's a person standing next to it to give a sense of scale. It's probably like 20 feet tall or so.

Finished Hemlock & Silver by @tkingfisher.com, wanted to jot down some quick and barely-comprehensible thoughts on mirror-gelds because I like them a lot!
