This is honestly one of my favorite things about living in South Seattle - sad this didn’t become a permanent fixture, but very happy to see Mayor Wilson extend this to every weekend. Biking between Seward Park and Colman Beach in Washington Summer is 👌
This is also the single best model I can think of to avoid 5/6/7+ year development cycles too - let a team build internal tools, workflows, pipelines, let them iterate, and repeat. Hiring/firing cycles (on top of the human pain) cause us to rebuild the wheel over and over, and is really inefficient.
Absolutely got my start in making games with the age of empires 2 and THPS map editors, and later the Neverwinter Nights and Morrowind toolkits.
Honestly so excited to have a hard copy of this book with all the excellent art. Congratulations to you and everyone else who brought this to life!

If you replace your entire workforce after each project, you’ll never grow the generational talent your studio could be known for. You’ll never be Disney, or Ghibli, or Nintendo.

The incredible and breath taking Tashkent Metro System in Uzbekistan. Started by the Soviets in the 70s. This is what Public Infrastructure could look like.
Im posting more Uzbek images on my photo instagram over the next few weeks

I couldn't be more excited to announce something I've been working on for a long time -
Please welcome Belltower House Artist Residency, a multidisciplinary gift of time in my erstwhile home in southern New Mexico, now accepting applications for 2026.

Really excellent piece digging into some of the development of Morrowind. I remember playing it as a teenager and being amazed not only at its strange world, but contradictory theologies and histories. It breathed a real life into the entire setting im not sure I’ve ever seen again in a game.
Good news, my studio is hiring for both a Lead Technical Artist and a Senior Rendering Engineer! The bad news is both these roles will likely subject you to me ranting about tonemapping.

These are so iconic! Excellent work man, the design here is really fresh and evocative.
Towerborne is out! I spent the last 4 years on this project. I feel very fortunate to have been part of such an amazing Env Team, we made some really cool stuff! Unfortunately most of us are now also looking for work =/
Anyway, I want to share my first ever Lighting Demo Reel!

PANEL 1: A shirtless tattooed wizard in sweatpants walking to a mobile home. WIZARD: "What's this now?" PANEL 2: Wizard in closeup. WIZARD: "Problem is most people have tangled up their idea of wizardry with a pastoral never-was England." PANEL 3: Wizard in medium shot, smoking. WIZARD: "But, well, Indiana needs wizards, too. An' maybe it ain't the worst thing in the world if we had more wizards who c'n change the oil in a car." PANEL 4: Close up side view of the wizard's face, still smoking. WIZARD: "Like ev'rybody *loves* Gandalf. But Gandalf'll never teach a local kid how to shoplift baby formula to help his momma." PANEL 5: Wizard in medium shot, looking down. WIZARD: "Nah, people don't like magic around. Reminds 'em they *could* have a different way of doing things than the one that hurts em so bad, an' lotsa folks can't handle that."

Senator, I’m a constituent in Washington. There is no reigning in an extrajudicial organization like ICE that feels they have the authority to murder citizens in the street. You must move to abolish ICE, and prosecute.
For those outside the Twin Cities, the person posting this GoFundMe is a member of Minneapolis city council (and among the many locals doing absolutely heroic resistance to ICE), so it's legit.
Really wonderful overview of some of the workflows you all used! Its always such a treat to see how folks built stuff. The lumen lights and stroke-foliage-brush in particular were really intriguing!
Hey! My job at Moonshot got fragged last week and I am now looking for a new role making stylized Environment Art.
Prior to this I was Lead Environment Artist on Overwatch 2, and shipped games with a small team at Torn Banner including Chivalry: Medieval Warfare

I'm really sorry to hear that Lucas - I've always been a big fan of your work. Hope you find something new very soon!
In love with the tone and earthiness of all the art I’ve seen so far - very excited!
Hey game narrative designers, wanna work on something for Meow Wolf with Devon? Yeah. Yeah, I think you do.
This is a vetted fundraiser for the family of Renee Good, the woman who was killed by ICE in Minneapolis.

Scottish landscape at dusk, a road overlooking the sea leads to a church in the distance with two figure walking down the path.
A stone church, silhouetted against a setting, overcast sun.
Stone outcroppings surrounded in fog on a hill, with broken clouds behind it.
A large vertical stone, backlit by a hazy sun, surrounded by rocks and fog.
