You could make yourself a "goal" of taking 3 weeks, because it's basically health care, and start scheduling the year. Because if you were hiring, you'd do that to your employee, and you can be almost as good to yourself, the employee <3. [That might work for me, but ignore if not for you!]
Happy Anniversary, Friends! I remember a lovely wedding, and it's been a pleasure to journey with y'all through So Much Good living and watch y'all just keep upping the "being good to each other" game <3 <3 <3.
Yes! I recently got a text survey that purported to be about them, Walm*rt, and Targ*t, but asked me mostly questions about whether I'd heard about their great benefits and improved safety, which made me realize that they may be hurting (or at least slumping slightly) among our demographic.
Neighbors proposed a trail cam for the 6 yo, I said ok, but guessed they'd only find raccoons, rats, and bunnies. But you could have a raccoon and a fisher cat, bobcat, or marten??? Cool!
It was snowing so hard for awhile there! That wasn't a little light flurry, that was globs of snowflakes pelting out of the sky :(. The novelty of snow has worn off for the season guys, we've moved on to flowers, get with the meteorological times!
I hope the easier, correct way makes your life so much easier in busy times! (And that the old guy is doing a slightly uncomfortable roll in his grave and isn't sure why :D).
Tigers! Great color! Awesome fit! Gorgeous all around!
What's your favorite soup? <3!
Chag Sameach, friends! I know I'm early, but it's almost dark (so gray and rainy!) and I'm heading to my brother's for a seder. To freedoms for all <3.
Does it though? [I guess the wild tear part, but I can't imagine you'll give up cleaning out and organizing when you hit full pause - fingers crossed for you! :) ]
Toybox? Inside toys like trucks? Bathub?
I thought of y'all - we were out your way yesterday at Bonsai West. A beautiful spot with cool bonsai that might be of interest to slightly older kids (when it's a little warmer and more of the trees are outside). Or perhaps not, nurseries are mostly of interest for the wagons for my young friends.
(And now I see it's every two weeks, which should make it easier, yay! We've talked about trying to combine it with a pub trivia excursion, so we'll have to coordinate).
Oh! I think we've been meaning to go to that Queeraoke with friends for more than a year now, and that makes it sound all the more amazing. Iirc it's monthly, so we really need to set a date (cuz a bunch of us will be traveling from Beantown).
You're so right to "take a break", cuz gosh they're so wrong-headed and y'all have been so good with/to the whole family. I'm so sorry you're both having to see any of this! <3.
Gastropod is often interesting stuff about food, and a History of Rock n Roll in 500 songs has (starts, at least) a ton of interesting info about lots of black performers and creators, many of whom I didn't know enough about.
Oooooof. Sending lots and lots of healing thoughts, and hopes for speedy recovery!
Oh! I just got a haircut today (thanks, as always, for the rec!) and your gal Kristin? happened by on a food mag page, and Cheryl said, "oh, I used to cut her hair when she lived in Boston, she was a lovely person!" (and C has good human radar). Thought you'd like that you shared a stylist.
Booo! May you both get some rest and recover very quickly <3.
My first thought was "some cool synesthesia?"... and my next was "orrrrr also, toddlers make some Wild statements". <3!
“We have a meal each Autumn when we eat rib roast of beef and corn on the cob. This commemorates a meal with your grandparents on their farm. I can still picture it, with a big pan to put our eaten cobs in so that no one knew how many you had eaten. Such kindness is never forgotten.”
Just got a lovely condolence note from a Scottish friend of my parents (from dad's grad school days) that I've never personally met. She told me that they have a dinner every Fall called "Thompson's Day".
Radiators are the friendliest ghosts <3. Also, maybe a little meaty?
This is why I try to have too much food for a dinner time party. I just got home from a visit at an elderly friend's house and made second lunch, cuz she eats so little - totes fine, she absolutely didn't need to feed me. But if I'm inviting people to dinner I want to accommodate diverse appetites!
Same (except I can't coffee)! Want to tell you about this amazing thing! But wait, I have to de-verklempt.
Also they became fast friends after their children married, so would travel to see each other - even when we weren't there. My parents used to look kind of nervous when they knew their parents were hanging out without them to supervise (eavesdrop).
My grandfathers: a lawyer and an electrical engineer-turned VP of sales (and cooler humans than that sounds). My grandmothers: graduated from Bryn Mawr at 20, 3rd in her class (first 2 got to go on to grad school); and had all but her dissertation for a PhD in mathematics (a Badass knitter).
Awww, happy birthday! And, wow, y'all are very tolerant and happy making with your megaphone gift <3 :D!
Stealing is bad, especially if you're a government official who's supposed to be helping the needy. But I did chortle slightly at the very Masshole nature of the corruption in Quincy: official spent taxpayer dollars on (among other things) an Old used Prius and more than 150 POUNDS of steak tips.
