Labor Day grew out of the late 19th-century call for “8 hrs for work, 8 hrs for rest, 8 hrs for what we will.” Since 1894, it has honored the contributions of workers. OPUSD, is grateful for our staff whose efforts support students. All schools & offices are closed today for #LaborDay2025

The 2025–26 school year is almost here, and our OPUSD staff is ready! On August 1, we returned with a day full of connection, preparation & celebration. We honored staff marking 10 to 45 years of service. We can’t wait to welcome students and families on August 5.
