My daughter's first task since formally joining @youngliberalsuk.bsky.social was bundling leaflets for delivery in the office today. @surreyheathlibdems.bsky.social

I've also recruited daughter's kindergarten/church mate from HK to join @youngliberalsuk.bsky.social. He registered and attended his 1st ever Lib Dem Spring Conference in York this year.

The 🐈 is out of the 🎒. Husband found out our teenager is a @youngliberalsuk.bsky.social member. He asked if she had agreed to it. She gleefully responded yes.

She's leafletted with me since she was 12. He's yet to find out she's also a @cesea-libdems.bsky.social student member. 🤣🤣🤣

Get the sunblock and hats out, as you go out over the weekend canvassing.

We have achieved something no one even thought about. This local elections, @cesea-libdems.bsky.social has the record number of Hong Kong British National (Overseas) candidates. I've got a sneaky feeling our party is has created history in this aspect.

Agree- Neither of those feel like democracy but let’s not forget the Lords Spiritual - in the House of Lords because of their position in the hierarchy of a religion. Like most hereditary peers this is another category which was ineligible to women for most of its history. Literally medieval!

I simply cannot believe how ill advised the current government is. Instead of pandering to the far right rivals, think about working for the people.

Weirdly they condemn the western using English. If they are so proud of their "shared ethnicity", learn to comment in Chinese or use Google to translate to Chinese to show their loyalty.

Think of the 5 Demands and 3 Demands as not-so-distant cousins. The details of what HKers and Thais are asking for vary, but in essence both sets are concerned with giving power back to the people. The struggle is different. The struggle is the same.

I read criticisms of Jimmy Lai. Those Southeast Asian Chinese condemns him, criticise his "colluding with foreign forces", calling him a traitor. Now, all these are written in English. They condemn the western world, in English. 🤔🤔
