I wonder if the drones are part of an effort to confuse and distract us from the truly unidentifiable objects like this weird orb. It looks like some sort of plasma phenomenon surrounding a stable center object of some sort.
The emphasis on drones in public discourse makes me think so.

No it's not. It's another AI enhanced astronomy image that doesn't look like the real thing. The contrast is exaggerated, the shape is enhanced. The colors obviously chosen for dramatic effect. And it doesn't offer any real information about the real nebula. It's dishonest.
Look at what I found at NASA's great Image and Video Library! I just typed "nebula" in the search field.
This is a genuine image not one of the many dishonest images amped by AI but presented on Bluesky as real.
When reality is truly amazing, why try to "enhance" it?

Check out Astronomy Picture of the Day for the real deal!
There are lots of AI enhanced (or ruined) images of astronomical objects appearing on Bluesky. They're obvious fakes to somebody familiar with astronomy but to others.
This is Jupiter's atmosphere!

Ummm, nope. These are two actual views of that nebula. No need to enhance, when reality is amazing enough. What's up with the dishonest images showing up here on Bluesky?
Four-panel comic strip done for my Patreon. The computer screen shows a security "I AM NOT A ROBOT. I click to confirm and the next image shows the computer asking: DO YOU WANT TO BE ONE?. And I'm paralyzed not knowing how to respond.
Oldie from the Patreon. Drawn on a blank index card.
So back on Hellscape dot com aka Twitter aka X, the conspiracy theorists are going at it, something about the butterfly of Bluesky meaning something nefarious. Despite the dozens of other butterflies in various logos, Bluesky is the nefarious one. I'm so glad I've moved over here.
This is the Helix Nebula as seen by Hubble, not the eyeball you presented. Please, don't be dishonest.
This reminds me of when there was a measles outbreak in Texas, during the 1990s I think it was. I'm pretty sure Bush was governor. I can't remember the exact details but I think it had something to do with budgetary concerns and an anti-public health sentiment, but it might have been antivaxxers.
Last year, when I was at MSNBC, I did a 10-minute deep-dive into RFK Jr's anti-vaxxer role in the measles outbreak that killed dozens and dozens of kids in Samoa.
I hope every Senator voting in his confirmation process for HHS knows about this crucial and awful story:
No URL? OK I'll search for it an check it out. A URL woulda been nice.
My favorite candy!
Thanks for mentioning BlueSky btw. I've been online like 90% less than in the before fore time and I'd-a missed out.
