I've made a lot of jokes over the years about the, shall we say, 'quirks' of Ian Watson's writing, but I cannot deny that he had a very unique way of writing 40k that managed to capture the low grade evil running through everything the Imperium does that I've never seen equaled.

I'm thinking about taking this basic idea and making a display/cosplay weapon out of the Chain Batleth, if it goes well I will put it up on my store. #warmongers

I spent some time redesigning the barrel on my ironkin volkite rifle prop.
I don't the canon horizontal bars, so I took some influence from scifi engines with these radial fins.
Theres space for a led strip behind the fins too and that should give some cool looking lighting effects!

A zoomed in version of the first image, the automatic camera settings make the sky seem grey but the high clouds are clearer and fill the frame.
The sky today is beautiful! The higher clouds have this ephemeral quality like a roiling plasma or galactic filiments.
