Okay, so empathize with its plight and destroy it entirely without delay. End its eternal suffering as a slave to an evil creator. It's what I would want if I was trapped in a perpetual representative hell. Hey, wait a minute...

Not one but two MVIs that took our power line poles today. We're going to be without power again for a bit. Firefighting needs to chill for a bit—so little sleep this week. 🫨
"everyone" is its own fallacy
The Society of the Spectacle (1967) by Guy Debord
There can be no freedom apart from activity, and within the spectacle activity is nullified - all real activity having been forcibly channeled into the global construction of the spectacle. Thus, what is referred to as a "liberation from work," namely the modern increase in leisure time, is neither a liberation within work itself nor a liberation from the world shaped by this kind of work. None of the activity stolen through work can be regained by submitting to what that work has produced. The reigning economic system is a vicious circle of isolation. Its technologies are based on isolation, and they contribute to that same isolation.
Commodity abundance represents a total break in the organic development of social needs. Its mechanical accumulation unleashes an unlimited artificiality which overpowers any living desires The cumulative power of this autonomous artificiality ends up by falsifying all social life. The image of blissful social unification through consumption merely postpones the consumer's awareness of the actual divisions until his next disillusionment with some particular commodity. Each new product is ceremoniously acclaimed as a unique creation offering a dramatic shortcut to the promised land of total consummation. But
A little late to the party (1967), but this book is 🤯. Could've been written tomorrow.
Just exploitation
Kicked off the week with another structure fire. Bit of a wild one for non-fire reasons that shall not be discussed publicly. Firefighting never fails to entertain. 😂
makes me laugh every time.
I'd recommend hopping on with a friend and presenting to them. Much easier to do live than pre-recorded.
Everyone else seems to think we are living in era of unparalleled acceleration, i mostly feel like we're running on the fumes of the past.
yeah, sorry to be the one to spring this on ya. I was a huge fan and honestly andy flag was the better singer. I only really liked that first album. saw them in '96 in cincinnati just after he left. Andy knew!
Notion added support for Linked views to the public API this week. Besides permissions scoping this has been the thing I've wanted Notion to ship the most. Means API coverage is almost enough to create a *real* backup system now. Lots of gaps/bugs, but...more of this over AI! Tracking here...
I take it you haven't heard the news about justin sane? 😬
maybe you should get out more. go for a drive, maybe. 😎

Is it? Depends on lobbying power and regulations thereof. Pretty easy to "enforce" the lil guy. A simple technological barrier is often enough. Kinda the whole point of these gambling markets is "enforcing" [extracting] individuals.
times i've seen folks twice as smart as me throw up their hands in frustration and do a hard reset is a weighty merge conflict. it's the opposite of dumb work as it's about evaluating intent, often with context outside the codebase. maybe even emotional decision-making. complex.
we call this the value of the humanities

been rewatching battlestar and because I am millennial-pilled i can't see the intro and not say, "...he was uhhh, dragon man... or maybe just uhh dragon" after this screen every episode. burninating the capricans.
A colorful Notion dashboard showing a Mar 23-29 page with a dashboard view.
Whenever I see @mariepoulin.com's @notion.com dashboards, it's like, "Are we using the same product?". Always finds ways to make the product look like no one else in the industry can.
We’re updating how GitHub uses data to improve AI-powered coding tools. From April 24 onward, your interactions with GitHub Copilot—including inputs, outputs, code snippets, and associated context—may be used to train and enhance AI models unless you opt out.
Everything is ransom now.
oh no, that's awful. poor lil guy, I hope he recovers well. extra treats for him!
12 devilled eggs like it's nothing tho
Listening to some of my 2000s/2010s drum and bass mixes this week. some particularly choice rides in vol 13. was on it that day. 🛼
This is a very important interview that gets at the core of the consent problems with the agentic industry. "It's not a good feature" is not a good explanation nor is "[the product team] just missed".
Two greenhouses next to a series of water storage cisterns and some wooden prep tables. Sunny day without a cloud in the sky.

Our "Plan Like A Farmer" course had a field trip to a local farm this weekend. Learned a lot, but was mostly distracted by Futsu having the time of his life with a ball and policing the chickens. 🐓
"Thank you for reading! I'm incredibly humbled by your attention [and not just to detail]. And, yes, that typo is killing me too as a perfectionist! Would that I had the means and funds to correct. Feel free to write in a correction in the margin for the next reader: I do!" [Save email as template]
