Frankly I didn't think I would enjoy it myself as the topic is so seemingly mundane and urban. But her experience of and appreciation for konbini is quite magical and won my sympathy. Wool and Steel is like that too but about tuning pianos! And the language is beautiful and poetic. Please enjoy!
One of my favorite Japanese novels is The Forest of Wool and Steel. I also enjoyed the novel Convenience Store Woman. The tea ceremony memoir Everyday a Good Day was inspiring in many ways. They all have English translations but I don't know how good they are in their translated form.
