A correspondent here has sent me this link to a YouTube video she feels is very important for all of us virtue signalers here to dutifully sit down right now and watch. She’s probably right about the watching part.

I will repost your link to the film but will not include your post. You know nothing about me or how I live my life but are comfortable calling me a virtue signaler. So, respectfully, you can fuck all the way off.
It’s a little comforting to think that Tim Apple is cringing with embarrassment right now—even if only just a little bit.
instead of waiting 14 days--as here--to talk to my team, I only waited 13 days to talk to them. which was yesterday. I'm all about taking accountability and getting into those hard conversations. story broke on Tuesday April 7th, if you're asking.
you also don't want to be the guy who lets his partner in crime take all the heat while you just stfu and sit tight.
Entre Tim Apple & le bouffon orange, l'on voudrait bien croire que ces deux gens fussent capables d'être embarrassés. Mais non.
Such a good example of how Right Wingers like Ontario's PM Doug Ford lie to justify their corruption when caught in the act.
Ford whined that Quebec bought several expensive planes, why can't he buy one? I'm the most scrutinized PM ever!
Quebec replenished an aging fleet of medical transport planes.
BEDLAM???? jhfc. yes it's easy to understand what's really horrifying him.
the wildlife biologists who are watching over this closely--they must be suffering terribly. unable to do anything about it but report it to the few outlets that care enough to publish the news. it's beyond horrifying.
Tim Cook donated $1M to Trump’s inauguration.
He fawned over Trump and gifted him a 24-karat gold plaque (as Apple lobbied for tariff exemptions).
Apple donated to Trump’s White House ballroom.
And it removed ICE tracking apps from its stores following a demand from the DOJ.
Remember this.
I think wildlife biologists are trying to do necropsies on them, but probably are not able to do them on every single one. And there are apparently a lot this year.
it must be horrifying. it would be hard to stop thinking about. feeling so powerless to help.
I'm sure it's all of these things; making the whale population so vulnerable. as well as how polluted the ocean is. but the immediate issue with the gray whales dying off the West Coast right now is the rising temps in their northern feeding grounds. the warmer water supports less food for them.
yes I see that happening around me as well. it's infuriating.
besides the on-going destruction of the environment more generally--I've particularly noticed how--literally--suffocating the millions of square miles of concrete is in our cities: tiny islands of dirt scattered here & there, grossly inadequate to support the pathetic plant life installed in them.
"According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the population has declined by more than half since 2016, and sightings of calves have become rare."
-more explanation about why whales are starving. & how they're struggling to deal with the oceans that we have so altered for them.
They get by from year to year largely on what they eat up north & store as fat reserves—using that stored energy for their long trips back & forth from the south. & for mating, breeding. With northern waters now not as cold, the higher temperatures don’t support as much life, as much food for them.
I understand that the biggest problem is what they find to eat up north. A wildlife biologist said that a whale he had recently conducted a necropsy on looked like it had failed to put on a large amount of blubber LAST WINTER. The problem is mainly up north, where waters are now too warm.
I haven’t heard about that situation, sorry. I will look it up, thanks.
As Gzero Daily says in this morning’s daily email, Spain is zigging while Europe is zagging: betting on immigration—not just out of morality, but also to get them out of a demographic jam. They’re walking the talk.
Dianna lost her job & Vrabel moves on without repercussions. Everyone in sports media is comfortable with it. It’s his private business. They point comfortably to conflict-of-interest on her part, but none on his. As if all that furore about those photos had anything to do with journalistic ethics.
Sorry to post this for those who abhor seeing this kind of news about wildlife. But while we are collectively agonizing over the state of our nation, the state of our planet is probably the more urgent news.
He always thinks something’s will be easy.
And never learns when it never is.
As soon as things start to go wrong, he resorts to his standard repertoire of threats, attacking journalists & firing people.
Then he tries to shout fantasy into reality.
Then he loses interest and stops paying attention.
It’s amazing how Rodgers isn’t really relevant to football conversations anymore, yet he still manages to get away with doing this crap. And having it be news.
So tragic for us all. I even remember the moment when it dawned on me we were in deep shit as a country. I was in the waiting room at a local car dealership while they worked on my car. A big-screen tv was on—with Fox News. Early days. I listened for a bit, digesting the message & thought holy shit.
Ikr? I mean…narcissism, sociopathy, senile dementia, all of these combined with vast inherited wealth: you could say that such a creature walking the earth will interact with others in a way that becomes complicated for everyone else. But the monster at the center of it all is easy to understand.
The minister was really freaked out by what he saw happening in that congregation. They were not willing to receive any genuinely Christian message. They wanted to hear that Jesus was calling them into battle. I think that minister did not last very long there.
—> they just weren’t having that message at all. They argued with him about it. Angrily argued. They were positive they were right, the pastor was wrong. Kept saying things like yes, but THAT message was for BACK THEN. THIS is NOW. NOW we have to fight. If Jesus came NOW he would say to FIGHT. GUNS!
A thing from olden days Twitter that still haunts me: a post from a minister. He found himself installed as the pastor of a church with an increasingly MAGA congregation. He COULD NOT preach messages like turning the other cheek, walking a mile in another man’s shoes, blessed are the peacemakers —>
I make a similar stew—with the umpteen kinds of beans & lots of vegetables. but I’ve been using Swiss chard in the place of your julienned cabbage. I should probably try it with cabbage.
