#Sharenet needs your help. We are developing a new coordination layer for an economy without money or trade, in public. There are so many ways to help us. Will you help? #GiftEconomy

Working on the save mechanism for Passports.. In the Edit Passport dialog, if you create/update/delete a user profile, or if you change global info life your date of birth, it asks you to confirm whether you want to Save to the Existing Passport, Save As a New Passport, or Continue Without Saving.

Working on updating the Passport API so there is a Base User Profile that always exists even before the user joins a Hub, and then there are Hub User Profiles that are added as the user joins Hubs.

Please check out our conceptual design to allow #Sharenet Hubs to be recoverable in case of compromise by hackers (or the server being shut down): git.sharenet.sh/devteam/Shar...

The protocol does not make trust automatic-- the bias is in favor of people being in control of which Hubs to trust.

We need a decentralized protocol to help people find the things they need.

We need it to belong to the people.

We need #Sharenet.

Check out sharenet.sh for more information! You can find our code repository there too. There's even a live demo (which is admittedly a work in progress).

We've been working on a decentralized open-source non-commercial system/protocol that would be more tailored for gift economies, called #Sharenet. We're totally against Buy Nothing's approach and want to allow anyone to build sharing Hubs anywhere, and even build more complex economies out of them.

#Sharenet allows you to share what you have with whoever needs it. There are three modes of sharing of things:

1. Simple - give to someone and now they own it
2. Custodian - give to someone and they are the new public custodian of the thing
3. Library - things are borrowed from a central location

#Sharenet allows you to share what you have with whoever needs it, and what you can do with whoever needs your help.

You can decide whether to make it a one-off or a community resource.

#Sharenet uses self-sovereign identities called Passports. You can easily create a Passport offline or through the website, and you can save it off for safekeeping. You can easily migrate your Passport among & across local sharing groups called Hubs. It's community-based, but you are free to move.

We're building the technological operating system for an alternative economy that isn't based on money or trade. Always open source and completely non-commercial.
