The first attempt was even more painful, before I learned where to add the proper amount of scales. Also I didn't feel like drawing the tail again.

I am practicing drawing scales, and I see how people hurt themselves from drawing now.

Is it alright to post pretty much the same work in progress in a row? Oh well, whos gonna stop me. I wasn't happy with the lineart.
I was trying to not copy references very much but forgot some tricks I learned in the process. The lines were too rigid before.

Inspired by, surprisingly. What came up when I searched gecko on tree.

Another gecqua work in progress, but slightly less so. I decided to scrap the last one. I want to start doing more interesting poses from now on.

New pokemon announcement means I realize just how fast people can draw again. So Ill at least post a sketch.

I think the starters are great. Its hard to pick a favorite.

Finished enough to get a new (temporary) profile picture.

Screen tablet. I've only used it a bit over a month, but I definitely prefer it.

I couldn't sleep until I put maushold in cult of the lamb real quick. I didn't feel like drawing more than 1 so yes it has some sort of sad backstory.

Looking at it again i think the left eyes inner line is good? i just have to make the 3 outer lines pointier to match the other eye.

Ive spent unimaginably long on just trying to fix the face, or more specifically the eyes.
I can't tell if I even did it yet. Its right eye (from its perspective) is good, but I was struggling so much to get the perspective correct for the left.

Update: The head was absolutely not 95% done and I am much worse with perspective than I thought.

This is taking longer than expected so I think ill post more work in progresses.

Ill probably make him a bit fluffier, and I'm considering adding 1 more color in very small bits.

Its gonna have arms separate to the wings, usually bipedal, and a semi raptor like stance.

I am remaking my OC into the new Drackalin species that's in progress.
I don't usually like to post work in progresses due to being so picky. But I couldn't resist.
