As a Head of Year, what immediate action would you take following year 11 mock data?
Sorry, I have asked the wrong question here.
I'm going to redo it.
Being told "I respect your opinion" by member of staff made my week.
Biggest compliment I could get from this particular person.
1 week until my year 11's start their final mocks.
Got so many mixed views about the summer results.
Really want them to be successful for a number of reasons, one or two of those reasons are selfish π€£
Reading some of these comments my thoughts are that these schools didn't need the staff, they just didn't want to do their own work...
I definitely felt the full moon on Friday.
The atmosphere in school was somewhat tense.
What's something parents say to you that they never follow through with?
Mine is...
"If I don't get a reply within the hour, I'm not sending them in tomorrow!"
*Child arrives in morning*
That sounds like a very simple process.
Pay scale threshold.
I'm intrigued to know how different schools/academies/authorities work.
To apply to UPS1 from M6, I have to complete a document that is 14 pages long before I start typing.
How big was your application?

During all the turmoil of COVID, we made a decision and 3 years ago today we traditionally eloped in Gretna Green.
The best decision we ever made for us.

And you will, every time π
Such sods aren't they, cats.
I hate and love ours.
Douchebags, both of them.
Well, that makes much more sense. It was always going to make more sense though than a limited 300 character post wasn't it π
Even as a leader, don't forget they're your summer holidays too though.
Although, having now sent that reply, that's probably not a sentence you're going to use but the idea behind what you present. So forgive me π
I'm not in a position of having to do that sort of work yet but as a member of teaching staff, the "but better" would annoy me.
How about "it's about consistently doing what we already do"?
Hope you don't mind my opinion π
Who goes for anything other than the food? Enjoy!
Cheers Bill,
Will have a listen to that this evening π
Okay, so a supply and demand type of situation driven by quality education.
That makes sense, I've just never considered it that way. I've always looked at good schools in good areas because of the type of people in society.
I do often have a naive outlook though so...
I've never heard this π²
What does it mean?
If you're in a poorer area, less access to private?
Entry to that particular state school will be determined by postcode?
In true form it's lovely down south and miserable up north π
Lashing it down here with a sky so dark you'd think it was 4am.
I think it's the way that Bluesky is similar to what we originally signed up to with Twitter.
My feed on X nowadays is promoted content. It feels more like Facebook.
We had tantrums and a few grazed knees, but she made it to the top.
Obviously they were my tantrums before anyone asks.
We've just switched from SIMS to Bromcom. Cloud based is great until the start of a lesson and everyone tries to use it and it goes slow because of basic traffic issues.
I'm sure we're all guilty of it when we first start. I know I was.
Those that listen to the feedback thrive and it's great to see them develop.
I think it's more about being respected. I've met some very dry (kids would say moody) teachers who are 'liked'. It's about following through on what you say you'll do. I think that's highly underestimated by new teachers particularly.
Thanks Claire.
It most definitely will come in handy!
Well this is much nicerβ¦ now to find lots of lovely teachers to share & disucss withβ¦#EduSky
This is the hardest part isn't it? Restarting and rebuilding.
I'm Jordan

It feels like old school Twitter. I liked them days.
