I don’t even live in NY and I stan Brad Lander - I think it’d be awesome if he runs for POTUS in 28

And I don’t see anything wrong with that - seems like a win/win. You can extend it to mothers with PPD who fear they’re gonna hurt their children. Or caregivers who fear they’re gonna hurt their wards. It can be a symptom of OCD.
Basically, why is mental health intervention so hard to access?

The guy who posted it is a licensed therapist. So, I’m assuming it was awkward wording and what he’s really trying to say is: “why isn’t there a hotline for [ppl who fear they’re gonna hurt others] to [receive help that prevents them from hurting ppl]?”

He has Creole ancestry - I think his grandparents?
And he’s not ashamed to acknowledge it. There was a whole “1st Black pope” meme after he was anointed
I tried out Claude Opus/Sonnet, but Kimi K2.5 is just as good for what I do and wayyy cheaper.
I’d rather support open-source providers in this space. Feels more ethical, and I don’t want to live in a world where Anthropic/OpenAI/Google monopolize the tech.
I don’t think it’s going anywhere in SWE
I was a huge skeptic about agentic coding (never liked the common workflows) until I learned about pi.dev
Got an OpenCode Zen account, customized my harness according to my workflow/security prefs, and I’ve been having a blast experimenting with open models.
I feel like Trump didn’t know who she was, saw the last name “Schwartz” and assumed she was white. Ironically, Schwartz means “black” in German.
Idk enough about her to celebrate. She’s qualified, but Clarence Thomas is “qualified” for his job too
this is fucking nuts:
Also, the team is working with IETF to make ATProto an Internet standard like HTTP. The corp may abandon that effort, but again, nothing prevents community members from taking it up

ATProto is also open-source and (primarily) developed by the Bluesky team. But it’s an open protocol; the community could fork it and decide “no, THIS is how ATProto apps should interact” and Bluesky PBC couldn’t stop that. Whether that works or not depends on community uptake

Friend, I think you misunderstand the difference between ATProto and the Bluesky API.
Bluesky is open-source, but the team owns the canonical API. They determine how 3rd party apps/integrations can be ‘Bluesky-compatible’

No need to be a transphobic ass just because this specific trans person is an asshole.
Vim for sure, I use it for 1-file bash/python scripts.
Nano… idk - maybe if you’re a masochist
Sorry to be a reply guy, but “Satoshi” is the pseudonym of Bitcoin’s creator.
Your point still stands tho, considering he’s suspected to be a white guy
Yeah - the party’s been over for a while, but we might as well start tearing down the decorations at that point
tangled.org is shaping up pretty nicely if you want something tied to your ATProto identity.
Codeberg is nice, but I think they encourage public repos/FOSS only.
forgejo.org was easy to set up on a cheap VPS, if you’ve got a lil sysadmin experience and want a private instance
Black civil rights leaders, students, and veterans were central to Vietnam War opposition. It was a solidarity movement, but they led the way.
She said “main form of legible protest … for 75 years” - your last example is still ongoing and the 2nd did not result in *lasting* institutional change
If you're on signal & haven't already, maybe go to
Settings → Notifications → Content → Name Only or No Name or Content
Because apparently phone forensics can scrape msgs from notifications storage.
Not just a signal problem, btw. Any encrypted messaging service w/ a "msg preview" type of setting

A Black person with long dreadlocks
Almost sittin on them nowadays. I usually keep em in a ponytail or twists.
I wanna trim, but my late homegirl was the one who started them. Until I can afford to get a tattoo in her honor, gonna just let them grow
In fact, a developer already did, to host an alternative that’s tailored to the Black community called Blacksky. That’s where I’m posting from right now
Yeah, Bluesky is really bad at advertising it to non-techies, but what makes the platform distinct is that it’s built on a decentralized protocol they created: atproto.com
Basically, if they went out of business tomorrow, someone else could host the code and keep the network running.
Agreed - if Bluesky is invested in existing as a social network instead of simply being stewards of the protocol the network runs on, they should lean into supporting the journalists/academics/writers who give this place an edge over meme/propaganda-laden apps like X and Threads
@baileytownsend.dev has a bunch of great write-ups on his blog; I’d start with this one: marvins-guide.leaflet.pub/3lyqxqbbqkc2p
Damn, you may need to contact support then 😅 The only other thing I can think of to try is signing in via a private/incognito tab - if that works, you just need to clear your browsing history/cache
On blacksky.community, right? I’m not getting that error right now… Or are you talking about Bluesky’s mobile site?
Heads up if you’re not already doing this: you’ll need to use your full handle, including blacksky.app at the end
I migrated a long time ago, but this sometimes happens intermittently when I need to log back in. I’d try again in a few hours, and if it still happens, give support a heads up
Y’all are either lying or your editors(/their AI ”assistants” - feels like Claude wrote this) lack basic reading comprehension.
What a fucking disgrace of a paper. I pray that you finally go out of business for good. May the few non-fascist journalists you have left find a safe place to land.
I’ve heard good things about this one - runs in your browser: pikimov.com
I personally like kdenlive.org for the simple stuff
