This page is structured kind of like a newspaper Comics page, or a page from a comic strip collection, with three separate comic strips in three rows. The first row shows the next phase of the battle between the Corgi adventurer and the cat mage. As their reality bending weapons strike one another, energy bursts from them, shattering the final panel and causing them to fall out of it. They then start running around and interacting with the panels of the next two comic strips as the dog chases the cat through them. The second row shows a comic strip called Garfelb that is clearly a parody of Garfield. Garfelb complains that there is a hair in his food. Then the dog crashes into his bowl, splattering Garfelb with food. Garfelb says he hates Mondays. The dog climbs out of the food bowl and resumes his chase. The third row shows a comic strip called Snopy, which is clearly a parody of peanuts. Snopy sits on the roof of his dog house, typing a novel on his typewriter. He types the sentence "Suddenly, A mysterious stranger appeared." Then the cat drops in and box accidentally bonks him in the head before running away. Snopy comments "Wow, I'm good." The cat escapes from final panel of Snopy, running away while the dog barks at her.

For Time (Take Your Time), i was initially worried it would turn out to br another somewhat forgettable club mix, but there’s a lot here about how he feels about his newfound success as well as his relationships with others and how those relationships have changed. Not in my top 5 but its okay

Not to mention a self-awareness and a betrayal of self showing his anxiety of his newfound success in 1995. Between Popstar and Time (Take Your Time), it’s obvious he isn’t used to fame yet at all which is so real

Popstar feels like it was inspired musically by Damn It Feels Good To Be A Gangsta by Geto Boys, but with that signature Scatman John sparkle and joy, almost turning it into a doo-wop and it just… it works. I feel like Mike Judge would have used it in *something*. Like a KOTH movie or something.

Sing Now! makes me think of that ddr song that you can’t help but love on a core level, however the easiest challenge ranking is still a couple levels above where you feel competent so you’re barely hanging on

Scatman (ski-ba-bop-ba-dop-bop) feels like a song made almost purpose-built for late 90s club mixes and that’s not a bad thing. Just kinda pales in comparison to everything else so far

Quiet Desperation makes me think of late nights in college where i’d walk across town after closing up the store for the night and not another soul was in sight while walking past all the closed stores at 1am. Like… perfect vibes for songs that sound happier than you but the lyrics are sadder

Only You feels like a video game credits song from like 2005 in the best way. Like a sony major developer mascot platformer but decidedly in the ps2 generation. You know the type: the game leaves a lot to be desired but the finale songs all fuck severely. Like way more than deserved

On the Scatman John album Scatman’s World, the song Scatman’s World is decidedly better than Scatman (ski-ba-bop-ba-dop-bop)

I’m going to bed listening to this album to see if there are better songs than the two standouts though.

Idk why it took me this long but… i think i finally *get* pokemon now. I think playing the original Dragon Quest kinda helped but like… idk… theres something about it that makes *sense* now that i wasnt seeing before. Something that makes the act of catching mons fun *on its own*

Also my semi-regular reminder to yall that if you *havent* played hypnospace outlaw, please do. Even after playing through it 4-5 times and playing a lot of the fan content for it, it’s definitely a game i find extremely important, and by playing it, i think you’ll learn at least a little about me.

Genuinely so sad that the game i was most excited for for the pst couple years got cancelled, but i’m *so* happy we’re gonna get nuggets like this as time goes on.
