@themountaingoats.bsky.social I know you're also into silents - this guy claims to have found a reel from the mountain eagle but gave it to a friend to give to a pawn shop. which shop? he doesn't know!! www.reddit.com/r/silentfilm...
one step closer to you guys doing "mission in the rain" on tour
Fuller's Park Row and Pickup on South Street are some of my favs of the whole old hollywood era, he was the best
@alexnavarro.bsky.social this thing is a desktop-based mystery game where you solve crimes in poland using actual computer software you already have installed. reminds me of the kind of thing GBeast used to play store.steampowered.com/app/2326730/...
oh interesting, i think it would feel much less lonely with two voices. also wanted to say nobody else on earth would go with "look long enough and see/where the referent wriggles free", huge grin on my face at that. linguistics mode engage
the way the dialogue switches in "your bandage" are only hinted at with change in vocal delivery is really cool, dont know if i've ever heard that done with a single vocalist. once again my fav section is the slower stretch in the middle lol. really enjoyed this record!
@franksantopadre.bsky.social the epigraph in the brand new thomas pynchon novel is a line gilbert used to quote on GGACP. heard it in his Bela voice when i saw it.
rocks in my pockets is a great song. feels sweetly resigned to its dark subject
almost nobody has a better song than this....PSB don't even boast about it either.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=ObSv...
Everyone's justly praising his writing, of course, but my favourite thing Kaleb ever did was this take on Johnny Cash covering Hurt but in the Folsom Prison Blues era. Made me sad hearing it again but it's still hilarious. (the image is one of Kaleb's photographs)
you should start assigning them to objects factory records style. "my hair this morning is CD108"
rest in peace ozzy osbourne. one of the most profoundly unlikely lives of the last 100 years. "crying and thinking is all that i do/memories i have remind me of you".
is it in the dead sun ones? this is my best guess
it's july now, that's the second half of the year. this is the list i keep of music i found and liked so far
"start to" is what gets me. there'll be no cheering, and then everyone is cheering
those towels have been there as long as I've lived in this house share and this is the first time they've been flipped around to show the like organic hippy love cartoon. new window on the world and I don't like it
james purdy
alice notley
pynchon writes about the dutch explorers that came to mauritius in the 17th century
listening to george jones again...imagine being born with that voice!
this is also the three brothers karamazov
def watch shiraishi's Occult if you loved noroi. its as if he decided to do noroi again but make the opposite choice wherever possible. a favourite!
was briefly obsessed with this video of dylan and band doing a jam-ish version in the 90s www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1MA...
The Heroes Around Me just got English translations!

It's an indie game about a truck driver raising his daughter in rural China during the 90s. Gorgeous pixel art, cozy soundtrack and apparently it's 4-5 hours long. Also, extremely cheap!
duo performance of no I can't killed me personally btw thank you very much
@themountaingoats.bsky.social hey JD this is a long shot maybe but I would love to hear minnesota at the roundhouse tomorrow. looking forward to seeing the band again but i missed the show when you brought the sick electric version around here last UK tour. will be a killer show regardless i'm sure!
my fav tmg record of the 00s
