The effect on the left has me thinking it's more about the failure and age of the VCR and less about the tape itself a lot of the time
VHS from my experience rarely freaks out like the image on the right, they hold up far FAR better than anyone ever gave them credit for. I have 40+ year old movies that still look completely fine and it blows my mind
I'm surprised at the results honestly since the right literally IS VHS. That image was ran through an old blank tape, the left is an application meant to mimic tape.
Which one of these VHS effects looks better to you?
