Gil Duran tweet: TLDR: Fascism
in response to Palantir's long fascists screed on X.
"Your Account is Suspended" Message on X
The CEO of Palantir posted a fascist manifesto on X.
I pointed out that it was fascist—which resulted in a permanent suspension from X (my second time!).
So, when you hear the tweeters complaining that BlueSky is intolerant, remember why many of us came here in the first place.

These are the Twitter/X accounts with the most engagement so far in 2026. I suppose I had some intuition for how bad it was, but jeez, this is what you get when the ecosystem is broken.
But Bluesky is an echo chamber

Yeah, I'm not relocating again. If this place goes belly up, I'm gone.

Embracing alternative tech is an act of resistance. You can use the same old platforms that enrich the same old people - or you can choose something new that seeks to empower everyone instead of concentrating wealth and influence in a few billionaires. It’s time to make the switch.

Okay so here’s my actual Bluesky-is-dying hypothesis:
The entire web is dying. Users aren’t going from BlueSky to another site (x/insta/threada/tiktok). Users are going to chatbots.
I know traffic to news sites has cratered (like 90%). My hunch is traffic to all the social platforms is down too.

Obviously the often-shitty culture here is only one part of the problem. Content discovery is hard for new users (most users like algorithms in practice, it turns out). Bluesky has niche interests. Text social media isn't growing, so it's about whether you can steal X/Threads users.

Unique daily likers as a graph over the last year. It's down from about 1.6 million a day a year ago to 1.1 million a day now.
I tend to get dogpiled every time I say this but: as someone *who likes bluesky and benefits from being here* we have a problem.
The network is shrinking, not growing. It's shrinking a lot: only about 1.1m people a day even like a post. This time last year it was 1.6m.

He Built the Definitive Epstein Database—and It Consumed His Life
The data engineer started as a casual reader of the Jeffrey Epstein files. Then he became obsessed, and built the most extensive network graph of the sexual predator’s shadowy world.
In February, a user named EricKeller2 posted on Reddit. “I mapped every connection in the Epstein files,” he wrote. He had built a website and database of more than 1.5 million files related to the Jeffrey Epstein case. www.wired.com/story/he-bui...

Following the Followers – and Leaders – on Twitter is All About Triangulation
Everything (and more!) that @sreenet.bsky.social
wrote about Twiangulate.com in 2010 maps to Skyangles today! In short, "if social media is all about 'listening' to interesting people, then Twiangulate can tell me who the people I listen to are, in turn, listening to."
