Because TikTok was sneered at by the majority as a ‘dancing platform for kids’. Not everyone was on it, creating an ‘in joke’ culture not everyone understood. It’s why the corn kid and other trends aren’t translatable to other platforms.

Regardless of whether you’re on TikTok or not, we should all be very worried about the US ban, and what’s happening with X and Meta. The ban has nothing to do with Chinese ownership, and everything to do with Trump controlling popular opinion.
