Couldn't agree with these guys more... Democrats need to show more accomplishments... by actually doing more than just talk. Noticed too that Facebook did not share this with any of my friends...

My 2007 update of my original Star Trek Known Space map from 1973. I changed none of the original design, and didn't add any of the later additions to "canon", I think there is a 1973 purity to Star Trek here. Note that the decadent and crumbling Vegan Tyranny is from James Blish's City in Flight Novels, added to Trek canon by Blish in his prose adaption of "Tomorrow is Yesterday". Similar, Kzinti Space is added by the adaptation of Larry Niven's "The Soft Weapon" to the animated episode "The Slaver Weapon". The Vegan Tyranny is based on the Star Vega "Vay-ga", and the people "Vay-gans". Not to be confused with modern dietary followers Vegans "Vee-gans"

As I saw the Star Trek Universe in 1973. Long before TNG put the Romulan Star Empire and the Klingon Empire right next to each other, something that didn't make a lot of sense. The original Neutral Zone was over a hundred years old in Balance of Terror, when in theory warp drive was far slower, and perhaps non-existent to the Romulans. So how did it get so gigantic 170 years later in the 24th century?

As a devoted Star Trek fan since day one, September 8, 1966; I was immersed in Trek fandom as soon as I found it (August 1972). I did the older map here in 1973, it's based on speculation and canon as was available at the time. See the alt text for more info.

One of my sketches from January 11, 2011. I sketch different ways, this is one of the start drawing a face and just keep adding to it types. The other major style is to rough things out and add detail. I think these freestyle ones have more character...

Redirecting...

The next four years are going to be rough for women and minorities and those of us with an empathetic heart. Still, here is post Number Three with some optimism. Been following Connie Willis for awhile now, she has a nice clear head (and writes serious Science Fiction as if you didn't know that)
