Great review! It was hard to pick one but Ripley is kinda speaking to me right now
Without saying your age, post your favorite film released the year you turned 18.
Foot holding-hands, duh
π That reminds me of a scene in Heated Rivalry which I can only describe as "foot holding-hands"
Here at the Trylon we've decided that 2K digital projection is no longer enough for us. We're launching a campaign to raise funds for the installation of a 4K LASER projector this summer. If you'd like to lend a hand... trylon.org/4K
Happy bday to BolaΓ±o!!
Since the Dudes Rock Canon came up a few times, this list from @jessehawken.bsky.social is pretty unassailable: letterboxd.com/jessehawken/...
Wow, even more Michael Mann podcasting! This time I got to be on with @nataliesnotinit.bsky.social who is brilliant and had some characteristically incredible film takes to share.
I took this going into the theater on cult film collective screening day!

Young Lee Marvin!! Harry and I watched 7 Men From Now a few months ago and it's a pretty great performance from Lee and his jaunty scarf
RIP to my unhinged review of Honolulu Blue
It is understandable that letterboxd occasionally deletes entries that don't meet whatever criteria, like little short films that never got a real release. It just sucks when I really liked the reviews I wrote for them!! Should have taken some screenshots...
It was nice to see you!! It's been awhile
Yeah!!
I appreciate the support in this endeavor!! I actually did get the drive jacket for Halloween last year, unfortunately at the party friends of the hosts who didn't already know me did not like the "carrying around a hammer" energy I was bringing to the event...
Who dares me to wear the Drive jacket to the Desire - Carpenter Brut - HEALTH show?

Pretty good couple of days for letterboxd #LastFourWatched Friday! A film fest watch + a rare 16mm presentation. Not pictured: Don Sielgel's The Killers, 2 commentary tracks of The Dirties, and a heroic amount of behind the scenes & extras of Nirvanna the Band the Show.
Hehe that's true, I actually liked Escape the Dungeon and would play it again
Explosions of violence, the fragility of male relationships, intense high-pressure scenes... sounds like I'll be watching Half Man.
LA, do not miss this very rare + VERY dope screening!
Last night I made my usual "waking up at 4AM, feeling weird" time productive and bought the Alexandra Heller-Nicholas book on the movie The Hitcher. This could be an expensive new habit starting to form. Better than looking at the news though!
I think disassociating has been the national past time since Sandy Hook tbh.
That was the first time (working a fully normie job) that I noticed a truly horrific thing had happened and we were just supposed to work through it

Thanks Matt!!
Now you can listen to me talking Michael Mann's THIEF with some great fellas! Even though they are making big profits from my work, my risk, my sweat. But that is okay, because I elected to make that deal. But now, the deal is over. I want my end, and I am out.
My wall calendar doesn't have Easter recognized on it but it does have the 106th birthday of Tom of Finland
Tiny pieces and complicated boards
No! No!!
I'm at the age / in the demographic where every friend hangout inevitably becomes Game Night. How can I subtly change the dynamic. Can we at least get a Gay Guy Music Video Night once in a while? I can't be looking at these tiny pieces & complicated boards every time!!
