Sunday in the Park. That final "Forever" as they bow to him always wrecks me.

😁 Good point! I'd say if you find it moving, it was done right.

Yes, very much a mixture. The screenplay lifts elements from the original 1976 novel, the 1985 film, the 1990 workshop and the 1993 Broadway production--and the seams connecting all the different pieces can really show at times. But there are some really great moments that make it worth a watch.

(That said, it's also a very tricky show to get right onstage, and I've seen a lot of productions that missed the mark. It's really difficult to balance camp with genuine grit and drama, but when it's done right, it's incredibly powerful.)

It's very different from the stage version. Many songs were cut or reimagined and others were added from an early workshop of the show. I enjoyed parts of it but was disappointed by others. I'd say it's worth seeing for the elements that work, but if you can see a live production, try to catch it.

So! Some newspaper media history.
The mainstream op-ed page is actually a somewhat recent journalism commercial product. NYT op-ed page started in 1970 . "Op-ed- meaning "opposite the editorial page".

The page often ran pieces that contradicted the paper's editorial stances.

Not at all--spring has always been difficult for scheduling but it seems to be so much more challenging over the past few years. Everything is opening in March and April and there are only so many performances each week!

It's so frustrating, and I don't know what the solution is.

Hungary's election is honestly one of the few things that has given me hope in quite a while.

Just taking notes of all the vile Republican reactions to Robert Mueller’s death.

There will be a lot of pearl clutching when the shoe is on the other foot.

They're going to completely shut Sinners out, aren't they? Sigh. At least it holds the record for nominations. #Oscars

I keep thinking that if Donald Trump had gone to prison for January 6, as he should have, all those Iranian schoolgirls would be having dinner with their families this evening.

An official letter from the Kansas Division of Vehicles dated February 23, 2026, with a redacted recipient address. The letter notifies the recipient that due to the enactment of Senate Bill 244, all Kansas driver's licenses and IDs must reflect the holder's sex at birth. It states that the recipient's current credential will become invalid immediately upon the law's publication on February 26, 2026, with no grace period. The recipient is directed to surrender their current ID to receive a new one matching their sex assigned at birth. The document concludes with instructions on how to appeal the notice if received in error, along with contact information for the department.

Kansas is sending letters to trans people telling them that their licenses will be revoked as of tomorrow and that they risk arrest for driving on a suspended license.

This is pure cruelty.

if everyone could take on the “what if we just did the thing instead of waiting for it to happen” energy that much of minneapolis has right now, the world could be pretty good
