I neglected to add where you can get @sam_evans_writer books in my last post. sam-evans.me/shop-2/
Stickers too!
In the Woods Somewhere is the first book (which I've read), followed by Down By the Water.
Kill the Puckers is exactly how it sounds. I look forward to reading!
They said, "Look, let's make a deal. I know my dog has diabetes (because, you know, I'm a doctor). If I'm right, you have to hire me." (so go along and do your little tests to confirm my diagnosis)
Bloodwork comes back as renal disease. So, hey, at least we weren't forced to hire them.
Had a physician as a client. They asked us to hire them because they're tired of working with people. After we stopped laughing, we said, "Well, you need to go back to vet school, become a veterinarian, then we might look to hire you." Their dog was in for increased drinking and urination.
Another indie author recommendation: @sam-evans-writer.bsky.social . I've read In the Woods Somewhere and really liked it, so I knew it was an easy choice to get her other books. Down By the Water is a sequel to In the Woods Somewhere and the next thing I'll be reading.

They are the best primer that uses humor to understand what vet school is like. With schools graduating soon and other finding out they're accepted to enter in the Fall, this is the best time to get copies for whoever you may know in the profession. You can find links for them here: funnyvet.com
From the Back Row is for anyone along the veterinary spectrum. For pre-vets as prophecy, veterinary students as sympathy, and veterinarians as therapy. People have told me it and its companion, Vet Med Spread, is the "Bible of vet school" and it's what got them through vet school. #vetschool

Weekly I will post my top pick for a comic. This isn't to say the others aren't worthy. It's just my top pick based on how I felt when I read them. I simply wish to 1) give proper thanks to comic book creators for doing what they do and 2) I want to emphasize positive reactions to comics

I was thinking more of "I yam what I yam!" Shorter and to the point, just like him.
“But the risk,” she started, her grip hardening. “The sacrifice. I know you want to do this for me. I just…” There was pain in her eyes beyond the physical. “I can’t lose you.”
Neither had been especially spiritual, but Kelly had had fitful dreams since she heard about the audition interviews. She knew it could be her unconscious offering justification. However, within the dreams, she felt watched, chosen. Her mother’s face remained doubtful.
television having long been a communal form of worship. All she had was an ability to cook, which left The Decadent Chef her only option.
“Mom, it’s the perfect opportunity. They’re holding open calls downtown this weekend. It’s a sign, I tell you.”
There were many competitive shows: baking, dancing, and singing. There were dating, sporting events, and survival skill forms of entertainment. Anything related to human struggle that an audience invested in emotionally was fair game,
Our Thoughts Are With You is another multi-genre short story collection and I had a difficult time picking which story to use as an excerpt as I like all of them for one reason or another. I decided on The Decadent Chef, a reality show that is not as it appears:

For all of the thing’s fierceness, I didn’t have that many injuries. I healed. The next time the dark moon came, I changed for the first time.”
“The new moon,” she added.
“Yeah. The new moon. I turned into a human, into this.” He looked at his hands, open-palmed out in front of him.
couldn’t see him, weren’t real in any significant way. The werewolf’s persecution in the movie left him feeling ill and only added to his caution.
“Anyway, I somehow got away from it. Or it let me go. I don’t know which. I caught up with my pack.
He shrugged, nodded. He had seen a Lon Chaney werewolf movie once at a fellow worker’s house who had a free couch for him to sleep on. Television itself fascinated him, though it had taken him a while to understand and become comfortable knowing that the people behind the screen
“No, it’s time I talked to someone about it. And it should be you.”
He glanced at her, sincerity in his eyes. She tried to smile reassuringly and then her face turned serious again.
“Let me make sure I understand, though. You’re saying you started out as a wolf.”
He hunched forward. These were the memories he typically tried to avoid, bury.
Maggie pulled her chair around closer to him, rubbed his back, and placed a hand on his forearm.
“It’s okay. It’s okay, David. Look, we can take this slow.”
He shook his head.
Here is an excerpt from the most popular story, Changes, a love story unlike any you've read before:
“It was so fast. It was a blur. It was all over me, biting, scratching, making a growling sound I’ve never heard before or since. It still hunts me in my nightmares.”

My first book, Something For Everyone, is a multi-genre short story collection.
Flapping its wings, still holding its head down, it tried to stand but fell back against a loose pile of hay. It released a plaintive, high-pitched screech.
“That’s…” Dr. Wright started to say.
“A wyvern,” Stephen finished.
Then, the doctor lifted the wooden bar and opened the door slowly. Afternoon light split the moody, dusty interior. A movement and rustling toward the rear of the central aisle caught their attention. Stephen opened his side of the double door, illuminating a sprawled form.
His apprentice gave a lopsided grin. “Since when are we ever ready for these situations?”
The veterinarian barked a laugh. Flicker hunkered, shoulders and haunches rising like a mountain range, tail outstretched with only the tip twitching in anticipation.
Excerpt from Dragon Vet Ascendant (book 3):
“Well, let’s see what we’re dealing with, Stephen. Sisters, please step back,” Dr. Wright said, gesturing with his hands. He took hold of the bar across the door and looked at Stephen. “Are you ready?”
