Feels good to be back in Wisconsin!
Wait, are teens supposed to be helping birth rates or are they supposed to “not have sex and babies unless you can afford them”?
I would love to know how many of these dudes self-identify as nerds because anecdotally I don't find nerds regularly gamble as they understand the concept of statistics, and if they want to engage in risky behavior with dice they will do it not with craps but with a DM and four fellow adventurers

Just a Sunday morning dog walk...
Actually happened. Though perhaps I'm being a little unfair. But the response of "don't review this because it's vibe coded" was the core part.
In this context, it was new files and somewhat standalone, but maintainability is still important. And regardless, it's interacting with centralized services at scale, so review of what it's doing is quite important.
I get that folks think LLMs are the future. But the result still needs scrutiny.
Another LLM coding attitude I am getting more frustrated with from other devs:
"This is all vibe coded. Why are you reviewing it?! Just let me merge it to production! You shouldn't be looking closely at the code at all."
I can't comment too much because I work at one of the companies in question, but this article is critical to read.

I mean, it's over the top, but Zambonis are awesome and I'm all for dressing them up!
Woah! Okay, I have to see that in person. I have to admit I don't love the "mammoth" name (what does that have to do with utah?), but that Zamboni might convert me!

In 1953 Iran had a functioning democracy. A free press. Seven political parties. Women in universities. Women granted voting rights in municipal councils in 1952. A secular prime minister named Mosaddegh who believed Iran's oil belonged to Iran. The US and Britain decided he had to go.

Among many many many other things about this, it's yet another example of "deport the people trying to follow the rules"...
Hearing from folks! I know the FS has barred employees from talking to the press. I can keep your name and identifying details out of my story—won't publish anything without explicit ok.
Seems equally important I talk to researchers working with the FS, who can talk about what we stand to lose...
And don't worry, if we were actually going anywhere, he'd be in his harness and clipped to the roll bar. He just insists on loading every time I start working on the car.

And now he's pouting because he didn't get more treats, but also staying vigilant in case we change our minds... Or just make any move towards the treat room...
A doggo looking cute while begging for treats
Puppy eyes for anyone who needs them today....
A piano sale advertisement
Not a sign I thought I'd see on the dog walk today... Somehow I'm envisioning it being: "Discount pianos... All you can carry."
Well, this is depressing. Not a surprise, but a very impressive visualization of what we can see from our window....
It’s been a brutal month for California’s snowpack, which is now at just 25% of normal.
The snowpack is now 8% of normal in the northern Sierra, 28% of normal in the central Sierra and 44% of normal in the southern Sierra.

Woah, damn. Like many others lately, this one hurts. Thank you for so so so damn much ...
