It's the forbidden dance!

Super impressive how Capcom is taking the time to optimize across devices, even going as far as building different models for some characters. It seems to be serving them well.
Come on, Toronto, PICK A SEASON
I bow to you.
That is definitely Trent Reznor.

What colour did you get? We got one too and it's pretty great! GameMaker runs like a dream on it.
Happy birthday to a legendary Toronto #indiegame studio and a company we call a friend.
Love this team; hope they make games until the sun explodes.
Extremely relatable.
Holy moly, that is quite the spread!
Was just listening to this today! π

The end-game end game?
Someone new might have to take over a task. You might have to make an update in a hurry. You might get hit in the head with a squirrel and suffer a concussion.
In all of these cases, simple, clear documentation will save you a lot of trouble.

A screenshot of a Notion page showing a very long art guide, screenshots from art samples, and notes on technical direction.
Cannot stress this enough for #indiegame developers: document EVERYTHING β even if you're a solo dev.
Ask "what will one-year-from-now me need to remember?"
For Neo Harbor Rescue Squad, our docs were epic, including a HUGE art guide for our entire pipeline. It saved us lots of work.
#gamedev
This was incredible.
Not surprising to see many features lately on American sites about Canadian studios that heavily discuss funding with little to no mention of the unique funding opps we have here.
This is one reason why it's important to invite Canadian media to speak to these devs -- we'd give a more informed POV!
Wish we could hurry up and invent the transporter already so we could go to all the #gamedev events worldwide without all the flying and the moving
Understood! Same to you; hope AdventureX is good! We wanted to go to that too but had to make choices...
Extremely good #gamedev thread for anyone who makes #indiegames! π
Game development is 50% creation, 50% mental management (whether you're solo or part of a team). Really useful insights here.
This thread is WONDERFUL. So dang true. We make pretty tight design docs as the guiding light that will keep us pointed in the right direction while we're sobbing away in the dirt.
I always wonder why sample sentences in dictionaries are always so elaborate and colourful. I figure they'd use the most straightforward example, but nope β it's always weird.
Will you be at Develop? We're goin'.
Working on our new game's background tile set (well, one of them, anyway). We are doing something really fun with the art style for this, but it requires a lot of upfront thinking for the 2D, hand-drawn art pipeline. π΅βπ«π¨

Thanks K-Ran!!!!!! π€
We will be featured at this year's @xpgaminginc.bsky.social here in #Toronto! π€ We were chosen by the city (!) among other talented game development studios to showcase our games.
We'll bring the shiny new Nintendo Switch version of Neo Harbor Rescue Squad to the event on May 21β22. π

Absolutely not. We were passing this around as well!
A black and white cat peers intensely through the wooden railing of a staircase. She's squat down on one of the steps, her head tiled in a funny way towards us.
"Did you commit your changes!?" she asks, burning me with her accusing eyes.
