I don’t think we are disagreeing here. American exceptionalism is rooted in opportunity for anyone to start a company in a garage and grab the American Dream ie Amazon, but our prosperity depends on a thriving middle class who both consumes, and labors to deliver products with pride at a fair wage
The tech companies lobbied hard to have their tax load reduced-why do you think they were all standing behind him at the inauguration? That’s Corporate welfare. Next time you are on a road trip count the Amazon trucks, they are disproportionately using our resources and not paying the price.

During the renaissance in Italy they used to have a lottery system where they just randomly picked citizens and then locked them in a room, and forbade them to speak with outsiders for two months while they were in session to keep them from being influenced!
