RIP Desmond Morris.

I don't recall any previous transformative technologies that had to be sold to the public so hard. No one in 1999 was going, "Guys. Cell phone? It's coming, whether we like it or not. I think it's important, FOR WOMEN ESPECIALLY, to learn about cell phone. So that we're not left behind!!"

Pope Leo XIV: Jesus told us, blessed are the peacemakers. But woe to those who manipulate religion and the very name of God for their own military, economic, or political gain, dragging that which is sacred into darkness and filth.

A favourite photo of one of my favourite Actors — ROBERT MITCHUM — taken on location whilst shooting “Ryan’s Daughter” in 1970.
I’m forever in awe of my dear friend and Words Unravelled cohost @robwords.bsky.social, who brought down the house—twice!—for a full house at London’s Bloomsbury Theatre last week with the help of our editor/musical mastermind and pal @martynmnw.bsky.social.
More photos and such to come!

@jonathancoe.bsky.social Hello, Sorry to trouble you but I've been trying to sign onto your mailing list from your website but without success. Is there any other way to do so?
Remembering the late great
KURT VONNEGUT
who left us 19yrs ago today.
He doesn’t have dementia, it’s kind of insulting to people with dementia to keep saying that. He is massively capable compared to an actual dementia sufferer, that narrative really pisses me off. He is just an awful human who has fallen upwards to the point he can break the world for everyone.
image from inside Artemis II text: i need more men to understand that two men crying and hugging in space after one of them announced they were naming a moon crater after the other one's late wife is actually what peak masculinity looks like.
Astronauts are circumnavigating the moon. It’s a momentous moment in history. And I have this song stuck in my head. Thanks @pbs.org! I ❤️ Sesame Street! youtu.be/F4cmRaHMLGM
As a child of Apollo now watching current day MSM cover today’s efforts the differences are startling.
Factual scientific coverage from professionals has been replaced with superficial DRAMA from deep voiced slow talking ghouls who want an emergency.
Bring back scientists and professionals.👇

Remembering the late, great JAMES CAGNEY — who left us 40yrs ago today, aged 86.
We might be going to the Moon in just three days 🌕🚀
Our teams are setting up remote cameras 🎥 ahead of the Artemis II launch so we don’t miss a moment. Stay tuned for updates 👀

Happy Birthday to Tracy Chapman.
JAMES GARNER wasn’t just an Oscar nominated ‘A’ lister and huge star, he was a proper, dedicated family man — who was married to Lois for 58yrs and loved, protected & provided for his family his whole life.
Here he is with his daughter ‘Gigi’.

Yes, this is great, and also so telling about how the EU is approaching the changing global order - hoping to somehow hang on to the old certainties by protecting incumbents, also because how dare China be building solar and wind so cheaply...
