I thought it was just NEW shoes that shouldn’t be put on the table. Which makes no sense. But most superstitions don’t.
I enjoyed writing this for the Brightonian magazine
Great show (when we managed to find the venue…they don’t call it the Secret Comedy Club for nothing!)
Warning: this story contains discussion of sexual abuse.
Survivors of abuse have been instrumental in advising the Methodist Church on the future of a watercolour, 'Annunciation', created by the controversial sculptor, typographer and printmaker, Eric Gill.

Lovely to see this MMAC artwork on display in beautiful Southwark Cathedral this Lent. ‘Behold the Man’ by Norman Adams
Booked!
The next time you want to call something "Orwellian" please first think about how Orwell was a socialist who literally fought Nazis and who wasn't warning everyone to fear the left.
A festive picture from the Methodist Modern Art Collection: Sadao Watanabe’s ‘People visit the stable’
Merry Christmas all.
Providing a great public service
Good to see the MMAC featured in the latest ArtServe magazine.

This is One of Those Poems without any Rhymes This is one of those poems without any rhymes, the sort of thing you might read in the Telegraph or Time[crossed out] Guardian. For, as proper poets know, rhyme’s deleterious and only gets in the way when you’re trying to be serious[crossed out] profound. It’s childish and cloying, simplistic and singsong to bat rhymes back and forth like some dull game of ping pong[crossed out] table tennis. To the literary critic it will cause great affront, which will make you resent them and think them a snob. This is also one of those poems which looks like it might go on to say something insightful about the human condition but then just kind of ends. Brian Bilston
Today’s poem is called ‘This is One of Those Poems without any Rhymes’.
To be fair she does look like a chicken.
The latest Methodist Modern Art Collection Newsletter has arrived. I love the very small art lovers on the front cover!
