Not saying it was down to me, as I'm sure others did too, but a local Lidl supermarket installed a row of Sheffield stands after I complained (several times) about how the only place to lock bikes was to the trolley corral.

The lady I spoke to was very sympathetic and seemed to appreciate the issues albeit it was the first time she'd thought about it. Said she'd raise it with the store manager. I'm not expecting action off the back of one complaint, but hopefully others will also mention it!
I don't think there was a plan for them to actually be used!
Yes, Talbot Heath Sainsbury's.
I can't see who you are replying to?
Not sure how much my e-step thro' weighs but I think it's around 30kg with panniers etc on.
Or maybe a cyclist who is tall, strong, fit and rides a lightweight road bike, and is ignorant of anyone else...?!
It's been there as long as I can remember, years and years, but yeah, there's never been any excuse for this sort of nonsense!
Well that's good to know...!
Not me! π€£
Bizarre cycle parking outside Sainsbury's which looks kind of like a series of mushrooms. People are expected to hoik their bikes up to a nearly vertical position, and lock them to the stalk of the mushroom. Unsurprisingly there was only one bike parked there, and that was not parked correctly, and locked in a very insecure fashion as a result.
I had an opportunity to (not) use the worst local supermarket cycle parking today... For a laugh I did actually attempt to park my e-cycle in this and nearly killed myself in the process. I did have a friendly chat with customer services about it...
Selfie of me as I cycle along a quiet road. I'm wearing light blue jeans, and a navy jacket with multicoloured flowers and leaves all over it. Under my purple helmet is a neon pink cycling cap with pedal me written on the peak in white letters.
What I'm wearing on my bike today:
Jeans, colourful bomber jacket type thing and my @pedalme.bsky.social cap under my helmet π
So sweet π₯°
There's a robin building a nest in my garden and now I'm wondering how I'm going to get anything done today other than watching it... βΊοΈ
I want to talk to you about cycling and hip arthritis
It surprises a lot of people, and needs to be more widely understood
I have a hip replacement next month, this thread is my experience, but I know others have found the same

The amount of public money that is spent on bollards just to try to keep drivers off/out of places they shouldn't be...
First day without jacket, or gloves, is always such a milestone! βΊοΈ
I've always found Laka great for insurance, they seem to have fewer/less onerous conditions about how and where you store your bike which gives me faith that they would cough up more readily than certain others...!
I approve of the matching bike/hat combo! Bit too chilly still for shorts and teeshirt for me, though!
I'm sorry I can't see you, is there a cyclist in the picture...? π
Very cool! π€©
Photo looking down at my leg, taken as I cycle along. I'm wearing leopard print trousers, lilac socks and flat black shoes.
What I'm wearing on my bike today:
My favourite leopard print trousers! π
Grateful for my chain guard which keeps my baggy trews clean.
I just can't fathom the pain and suffering - and fury - that these parents must feel. It goes on and on...
Never mind, I've booked something elsewhere! Hoogstraat, if that helps narrow any offerings down - particularly keen on nearby bakery/cafe recommendations! π
With a name like that how could we forego a visit?! π
My youngest son is obsessed with football and wants to go see the stadium! We'll be there pre-season but I'll see whether they do stadium tours or anything like that.
There are some cool-looking places to stay in Ghent's red light district... Now, you might call Soho, London a red light district and I'd have no issues going/staying there. What is Ghent's like? Would it be fine for me to stay there?! π
Sounds cool! It's hard to enthuse teenagers about much but I think they might enjoy this! π
My wisteria is about to flower for the first time ever π About another week to wait, I reckon.
Hive mind - planning a trip to Ghent in August with my boys aged 12 and 14. Firstly, can anyone recommend a good place to stay, cheap and cheerful and well connected? We'll be travelling by train/public transport. Secondly, any general tips, places to visit, where to eat etc?
And they take up more room on the street, putting more pressure on availability of parking spaces. Any way you look at it, SUVs are ridiculous in urban areas.
