Coltsfoot plants in seed and still a few in bloom.
Skylarks were singing overhead, Whitethroats sang in the bushes.

This whole volume looks great! Looking forward to reading.
I do love living Salisbury, from the City centre within a short walk one has the choice of several nature rich walks :-)

Many researchers now think many of the molecules necessary for life were already present in the nebula that grew into our solar system, which would mean the components for all living things came from space. A recent study provides strong new support for that hypothesis.

They've been asking but everything I've seen in recent weeks tells me they aren't listening or even wanting to hear.
For so many people it's just their dogs that are the centre of the universe.
Basking Adders? Nesting Skylarks?
No thanks, I like to see my dogs off the lead, enjoying themselves...
My Garden of a Thousand Bees Wildlife film-maker Martin Dohrn is bee obsessed.
He has found over 60 species in his Bristol garden and sets out to film them, with mind-blowing results.

A grey day in the Bluebell woods.
A poor light under the trees today but the fresh green of the early Beech leaves was just wonderful.
No one else there...

That's a cold windy day full hearted cold water bathing. :)
1/2 On this least auspicious of Spring days - the wind has a real chill factor - the Blue Tits have decided to begin nest building.
I've had a camera here for a while & it's been explored by Great & Blue tits since mid-Feb.
The birds are excavating the interior of the log - there's much tapping.
Weekend watching sorted 🍿 The de Cardi Lecture is now live on YouTube.
Dr Anwen Cooper takes us into the world of prehistoric Britain, exploring how past relationships with the natural world can help shape how we think about nature recovery today.

The president’s inconsistencies “pose challenges for america’s allies”. Amusing understatement
Hi Chris, @chrisraper.bsky.social, thanks for the like on my reposting of Tony Gillie's Bombylius discolor photo.
Very pleased to have come across you on Bluesky, I'm Trevor Williams who did some wardening at Hartslock back in the 1970s.
Today’s Raven News: Chips found me on my walk lots today and treated me to a repertoire of his vocalisations! After his last visit he soured high in the sky above me and patch for 10 minutes, calling and tumbling. I am just in awe of him, he is just the most amazing character.
It's Spring !!!! 😄
Yeay Great it's definitely Spring now 😀 ! Excellent video too.
So sad that an island with a reputation for greenness and nature is the most nature deprived in Europe. #SpeirGorm
Great Photo to compare the sizes of Carrion Crow, Raven and Jackdaw.
And there was Margaret Knight, whose seminal radio broadcasts about ‘morality without religion’ led to her being castigated by sexist tabloids as a foolish woman allowed to run wild by the lenient men in her life. You can learn more with @profaliceroberts.bsky.social. youtu.be/0LCTHGm1-lg?...
Dirty Business - the sewage scandal docu-drama - on C4 is staggering TV. Not only the cold rage of it, and the depiction of banal corporate evil, but the production methods and performances. Poo Chernobyl.
Bits from a washing machine?
I'm lobbying for Toby the Trowel investigates Llyn Cerrig Bach or Toby the Trowel and the Lead Pigs.
I want both tbh! ❤️

The latest @humanists.bsky.social Freedom of Thought Report highlights a growing, global trend of 'traditional values' & 'religious freedom' being weaponised against the rights of humanists, the non-religious, religious minorities as well as women & LGBT+ people globally. Invaluable resource.
For those such as me who until a few minutes ago didn't know how 'stone shaft straighteners' worked.

Let sleeping logs lie.
A mossy drift, a twist of grain, and suddenly the woodland floor acquires a cast of resting characters — drowsy, watchful, or merely unimpressed by passing humans with cameras.
I took the hint and stepped quietly by.
